Injury Reported in Northbound I-5 Caused by Hydroplaning Vehicle

A hydroplaning vehicle caused a collision along Interstate 5 in Elk Grove on October 25, which sent the driver to the hospital. The accident happened around 2:21 p.m. on northbound I-5 at the Sutterville Road off-ramp, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). When the Honda Civic hydroplaned, it ended up in the center divider facing south and blocking traffic in the number one lane after crashing with a Toyota sedan. 

Off-Road Accident in Elk Grove

Three vehicles were involved in an off-road accident on March 7, in Elk Grove along State Route 99. The accident happened in the southbound lanes just north of the Grant Line Road off-ramp at around 6:43 p.m. In the collision, a Chrysler 300, Toyota Camry and another unknown vehicle exited the road for unknown reasons. One of the vehicles went through a fence and ended up on Stockton Boulevard. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) and officers with the Elk Grove Police Department were both at the scene of the off-road accident. An ambulance was called for at least one of the people who were involved in the crash. All three vehicles had to be towed away afterward. As of 8:00 p.m., the accident site had still not been cleared.

In a study conducted last week by ValuePenguin, Highway 99 was ranked as the most dangerous highway in the nation. However, local roads and intersections in Sacramento and its surrounding cities are encountering an increase in reported accidents.
