Driver Loses Control of Vehicle in Major Injury Accident

A solo vehicle accident in Elk Grove on February 14 caused a major injury. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) report said that a driver in a white sedan was proceeding west along Calvine Road when they lost control of the vehicle. The car overturned multiple times at around 1:43 p.m. at the intersection with Cliffcrest Drive. Emergency responders arrived to assess injuries, and one person was reported as having a major injury, but one that was not life-threatening. The injured person was taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment and evaluation of their injuries. Both the westbound and eastbound lanes of Calvine Road were blocked for a time while the vehicle was cleared from the scene. The CHP is investigating to determine what precipitated the accident.

Facial Injury in Elk Grove Traffic Accident

A traffic accident in front of Mosier Cattle Ranch in Elk Grove on January 2, 2020, resulted in injury. The accident happened on Grant Line Road when a Ford Fusion and a white sedan plus two additional vehicles collided at 4:18 in the evening. According to a representative of the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the driver in the white sedan suffered a facial injury, and an ambulance was called to transport them to the hospital. Traffic in the area was halted as the accident was investigated. Both the CHP and the Sacramento Fire Department were at the site of the traffic accident. The condition of the driver has not been updated as of the time of this report. The CHP has not said whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision. 

Major Injury in Elk Grove Accident

On December 20, 2019, a major injury occurred to one person in an accident involving four vehicles in Elk Grove. The crash happened along Interstate 5 southbound just north of the Laguna Boulevard off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) around 6:00 p.m. One person was reported to have a major neck and head injury and was transported to Kaiser South for additional evaluation and treatment. Another person was described as suffering minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital. The cause of the collision is being investigated by the CHP.

Drunk Driver Kills One Person and Injures Others Near Elk Grove

A drunk driver caused a two-vehicle accident with major injuries in an area near Elk Grove when he struck an SUV after running a red light. The crash happened at the intersection of Bader and Calvine roads, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The other driver, a 43-year-old female resident of Elk Grove, was driving a Toyota SUV heading west on Calvine Road as she approached the intersection where she had a green light. The drunk driver, identified as Steven Bhardwaj, 33, a resident of Plymouth, was driving a Honda Accord north on Bader Road heading toward a red light when he failed to stop and crashed into the passenger side of the Toyota. As both vehicles moved across the intersection, Bhardwaj hit a pedestrian signal. Neither the driver of the Toyota nor her three passengers in the SUV were injured.

Elk Grove Accident Results in Neck Injury

A neck injury was reported after an accident on Interstate 5 near the Elk Grove Boulevard offramp on October 10. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a collision between a Hyundai Genesis and a Nissan Sentra occurred at approximately 6:21 p.m. Authorities said that the person who reported the accident was at the scene and trying to help the injured party. The Sacramento Fire Department emergency responders were called to the crash site to evaluate a person with a neck injury. It is unclear how the accident happened or whether drugs or alcohol were involved. 

Multiple Vehicle Crash in Elk Grove on Interstate 5

Elk Grove was the site of a multiple vehicle crash that involved a big rig on August 21. Injuries were reported in the accident. The collision was reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) as occurring shortly before 7:30 in the morning along Interstate 5 close to Elk Grove Boulevard. The CHP is in charge of the investigation into how the multiple vehicle crash occurred. 

Driver Error Causes Multiple Injuries

Driver error may have caused an Elk Grove collision on June 2. It involved a woman in a Lexus SUV, returning from grocery shopping. Of the five vehicles involved, four people ended up hospitalized with the driver of the Lexus listed in critical condition. The accident happened along Laguna Boulevard as the motorist attempted to turn left onto Dwight Road. The vehicle crossed the median into traffic that was coming in her direction. The Lexus struck a Suzuki, which caused a chain reaction, involving three other vehicles.

Elk Grove Rollover Crash Ends in Injuries

An Elk Grove rollover crash on Big Horn Boulevard and Amber Creek Drive occurred in the morning hours of May 31. Two cars collided with an SUV in the intersection, causing the sports utility vehicle to roll over. An occupant of the SUV that landed on its roof was transported to a local hospital with injuries. Traffic on Big Horn Boulevard was confined to one lane because of the Elk Grove rollover crash. Police were on hand to investigate the accident and clear the boulevard. It has not been reported at this time if drugs or alcohol had a part in the crash.

Road Rage Crash in Elk Grove

A potential road rage crash occurred near Elk Grove on March 25. It involved three vehicles and was reported to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) by a caller who saw it. The accident happened around 7:00 a.m. along Highway 99 southbound, north of the Calvin Road off-ramp. The CHP said the accident involved a black Mercedes 2-door, Toyota Rav4, and a Chevy. One of the vehicles overturned, and injuries were reported.

Elk Grove Collision Results in Major Injury

An Elk Grove collision between two vehicles occurred shortly after 3:00 p.m. recently along Dierssen Road that resulted in a major injury to one person. The area of Dierssen Road was between the West Side Freeway and north of Twin Cities Road. Major damage was reported to at least one of the vehicles, which required the assistance of a tow truck to remove it from the accident site. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be handling the investigation into the cause of the auto accident and to place fault. No further information has been released by authorities on the condition of the person who was injured or their identity.
