Single Vehicle Traffic Accident Causes Passenger’s Death

A single vehicle traffic accident resulted in the death of a passenger while the driver fled the scene. The South Sacramento accident occurred on April 20 when an Acura SUV collided with a power pole at the corner of Mendocino Boulevard and Fruitridge Road. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the crash occurred shortly before 10:00 at night. I would like to offer my sympathy to the friends and family of the deceased in their time of grief and loss.

Two Pedestrians Seriously Injured in Hit and Run Accident

Two pedestrians were seriously injured in a Wednesday night accident on North John Still Drive in the Meadowview area of the city. The April 17 accident happened at about 8:30 p.m. The Sacramento Police said that two 16-year-old females were hit near John Still Drive and Hemford Circle. According to witness accounts, the vehicle left the scene, continuing east on John Still Drive. The two girls were taken to a local hospital by fire personnel. A report on their conditions said that one of the two pedestrians suffered critical injuries. The other was listed in stable condition on Thursday.

Pollock Pines Woman Dies During Placerville Crash

Officers from Placerville California Highway Patrol (CHP) have reported a deadly car accident that took place on a local roadway on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. The crash left one person with fatal injuries and, according to reports, did not involve any other individuals. The fatally injured woman was identified by authorities as Heather McCreery, a 42-year-old resident of the community of Pollock Pines. I would like to extend my sympathy to Ms. McCreery’s loved ones during this difficult time.

Two Killed in Madera Head-On Collision

Two people were killed in a Madera head-on collision on the afternoon of April 14, 2019. The incident occurred shortly before 4:30 p.m. along Avenue 12 in the vicinity of Avenue 34 1/2. Officials said a black Audi was traveling eastbound when, for unknown reasons, veered into oncoming traffic in the westbound lane and crashed into a Toyota 4-Runner. One of the five occupants in the Toyota was airlifted to the hospital, while three others were transported by ambulance. Sadly, one passenger in the Toyota passed away at the scene as well as the motorist of the Audi. Authorities have identified the decedents as a 17-year-old boy and 11-year-old boy, both residents of Madera. I would like to send my heartfelt thoughts and prayers to those mourning the loss of their loved one during this difficult time.

Fatal Motorcycle Crash at Midtown Intersection

A fatal motorcycle accident occurred at a midtown Sacramento intersection on April 9. According to a Sacramento police representative, the accident happened at about 7:00 in the evening at Q and 26th Streets. Police report that the motorcycle was heading east on Q Street and the motorist was driving north on 26th Street. The driver of the motor vehicle was not injured. Tragically, the motorcyclist was killed in the collision. Traffic to the area was closed off for hours as police conducted an investigation, and the area was cleared. An area on Q Street between 25th and 27th and between R and P Streets on 26th Street remained closed as of 9:00 p.m. I would like to take this opportunity to express my condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Pregnant Woman and Baby Critical After DUI Crash

A pregnant woman and her baby are in critical condition after being struck during a DUI crash on April 8. The collision occurred on M Street in the vicinity of 4th Ave in Rio Linda at about 8:00 in the evening, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).  North Sacramento Police reported a male driving a Jeep was traveling westbound on M Street when he suddenly swerved to the right and hit a parked Chevrolet Impala. The pregnant woman, age 23, was standing in front of the Impala and it struck her, causing her to fall to the ground. The drunk driver was arrested at the scene.

Crash Involving Four Vehicles on Capital City Freeway

A crash involving four vehicles on the Capital City Freeway at 1:00 p.m. left one person trapped and another injured after a collision with a big truck. The accident on April 3 occurred midday in the area of N Street. The incident blocked several lanes of traffic. The Sacramento Fire Department was called to the accident site. One injured person was taken to a local trauma center. It was reported the person was admitted to the hospital for treatment. Rescue personnel was working on freeing the trapped individual. An SUV involved in the accident was crushed in both the back and the front. As of the time of this report, little additional information has been released about the crash, and there is no word on how it happened.

Stockton Hit and Run Accident Kills Woman

A woman was killed in a hit and run accident in south Stockton on the afternoon of March 26, 2019. The incident occurred shortly after 1:30 p.m. along the 600 block of Church Street, just around the corner from St. Mary’s Dining Room and the Stockton Shelter for the Homeless. A woman was walking in the area when she was hit by an oncoming black Toyota Camry sedan. The Toyota then jumped the curb and came to a rest against a fence, nearly missing another woman who ran up a small hill to avoid being hit. The driver and passengers of the Toyota allegedly exited the vehicle and left the scene in a separate car, leaving the injured woman behind. Emergency personnel was called to the scene to transport her to the hospital for treatment. Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries during hospitalization. Her identity has been withheld pending notification of her family members.

Eight Injured in Modesto DUI Crash

Eight people were injured in a DUI crash near Modesto on the afternoon of March 31, 2019. The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. at Vivian Road and West Grayson Road. A driver of a 2008 Saturn Outlook was traveling westbound along West Grayson Road, approaching the intersection. A motorist of a 1994 Mazda B4000 was heading north along Vivian Road and reportedly failed to stop at the stop sign, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The driver’s side of the Saturn SUV was struck by the front of the Mazda pickup truck. The impact of the collision propelled the Saturn off the roadway and into metal fencing while the Mazda overturned and came to a rest along the road. Two parties, the Saturn driver and passenger of the Mazda, were both seriously injured in the crash while the other six suffered minor injuries. All eight parties were transported to hospitals by two helicopters and four ambulances. Officials have not yet released an update regarding the conditions of those injured.

Eureka Woman Identified Following Fatal Motorcycle Accident

The Solano County Sheriff’s Office has identified the woman who lost her life in a recent motorcycle accident in Fairfield as Mary Hadley, a 55-year-old resident of Eureka. The accident happened on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, and involved only a single motorcycle. While California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers are still looking into the accident, the involved driver has been placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. My sincere sympathy and support are extended to Ms. Hadley’s friends and family after this terrible incident.
