Fatal Accident on Highway 99 Is the Second in Three Days

A traffic fatality and several serious injuries occurred along Butte County’s Highway 99 on January 23 near Gridley when a driver crossed over into an opposing lane, colliding with a semi. The accident was reported by the Oroville office of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) as occurring at about 6:45 a.m., close to Evans Reimer Road. A passenger riding inside the vehicle that crossed into opposing traffic died in the collision, while the driver and an additional passenger experienced major injuries.

Accident on Magazine Street on-Ramp Claims Life of Motorcyclist

A fatal motorcycle crash occurred in Vallejo on January 22 when the rider lost control of the Harley-Davidson he was riding. The accident happened along Interstate 80 eastbound at the on-ramp for Magazine Street, according to the collision report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). An officer with the CHP reported that the motorcyclist was speeding at the time he lost control of his bike. 

Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By Vehicle Near Elverta

A pedestrian fatality was reported near Elverta on January 19 following a collision with a motor vehicle. According to the report issued by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident happened on Elverta Road close to 16th Street as the pedestrian was walking along the roadway around 11:00 p.m. Emergency responders were called to the scene following the vehicle collision and transported the injured pedestrian to a hospital where he died. 

Fatal Accident on Florin Road Claims Life of Motorcycle Rider

A motorcycle collision with a motor vehicle resulted in the death of the rider in Sacramento on January 19. The accident was reported to the Sacramento Police Department around 6:20 p.m. near the Florin Road intersection with Munson Way. When officers arrived, they discovered the motorcyclist had suffered serious injuries. The rider was declared dead at the accident scene. 

Yuba City Woman Dies in Crash on Sutter Bypass Bridge

A traffic fatality occurred near Yuba City on January 15 in limited visibility due to fog when she lost control of her car and crashed. The news release by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said the young woman lost her life in the collision. First responders declared her dead at the accident scene.

Highway 99 Head-on Collision Causes a Fatality

A single-vehicle accident fatality occurred on January 16 in the area of Yuba-Sutter, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). In a news release by the CHP, the accident occurred along Highway 99 northbound near Nicholas Avenue. Fog in the area reportedly limited motorists’ vision to around 75 feet.

Female Pedestrian Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver 

A pedestrian lost her life to a hit-and-run driver along Garden Highway on January 4. The accident happened between Lincoln Road and Epley Drive at about 10:45 p.m., according to Sacramento Police Department spokesperson, Officer Chad Lewis. When police responded to the call, they found a woman who had apparently been struck by a motor vehicle and had suffered major injuries. 

Accident on Shasta Street May Have Been Caused When Driver Lost Control

A fatal traffic accident took place in Vallejo on January 1 when a vehicle ran into a tree. The accident was reported by officials with the Vallejo Fire Department, who were called to the scene of a vehicle on fire that might endanger a nearby structure around 9:22 p.m. on Shasta Street. Multiple people called the fire department to say there might be people still in the vehicle. The firefighters arrived at the scene in under one minute to discover the vehicle had become fully engulfed, and people were still inside. Medical personnel with the fire department pronounced both of them deceased at the accident scene. 

Highway 37 Fatal Accident Caused by Jackknifed Big Rig

A big rig accident involving another vehicle caused the death of one man in Vallejo recently when the semi-driver lost control. The accident happened, according to Kevin Brown, a firefighter, and spokesperson for the Vallejo Fire Department, along Highway 37 around 11:30 in the morning as the Freightliner was going west along the roadway near Mare Island. At this point, the truck driver came across traffic that was moving slower, and the big rig jackknifed
