Napa Man Dies in Pedestrian Accident

Authorities of the Napa County Sheriff’s Office have identified a man who lost his life in an area crash on Saturday, April 13, 2019. The accident involved a vehicle and a pedestrian who suffered fatal trauma. The decedent was identified two days later as Erik Keith Woodward, a 25-year-old Napa local. I would like to extend my support and sympathy to Mr. Woodward’s loved ones while they are grieving over their terrible loss.

Man Identified After Fatal Car Accident in Chico

Chico Police Department (CPD) reported that one individual was fatally injured during a local collision on Saturday, April 13, 2019. Officers stated that the collision involved three separate vehicles and happened in the early evening. Additionally, two other people suffered injuries that required hospitalization. Butte County officials identified the fatally injured man as Virgil Santos, a 64-year-old resident of Chico. My sympathy is with Mr. Santos’ loved ones while they are mourning their tragic loss.

Body of Tow Truck Driver Found in River

The body of tow truck driver, Shalvinesh Sharma, was found in the Sacramento River on April 11 shortly after 9:00 a.m. It was more than two weeks after an accident that claimed his life. The 40-year-old tow truck driver’s body was seen floating in the Garcia Bend area of the river on Thursday morning. Sharma’s body was identified by the sheriff’s office in Yolo County, and a full autopsy is pending. The body of his wife, Roselyn Sharma, who was a passenger in the tow truck, was found in the cab on Sunday. The discoveries bring some closure to the family and friends of the Fijian-Indian couple, who were inseparable in life. 

Folsom Drunk Driver Causes Fatal Accident

A suspected Folsom drunk driver was arrested following a traffic accident on April 8 around 2:00 in the morning. The collision occurred when the vehicle struck a light pole and turned over. One passenger in the front seat of the Subaru Forester died from the crash. Others suffered moderate to minor injuries. The alleged Folsom drunk driver was identified as a Citrus Heights woman, age 21. The accident happened along southbound East Bidwell Street, which is near Folsom Lake College. I would like to extend my sympathy to the friends and family of Joshua Lowery, 28, of Cameron Park, who so tragically lost his life in this terrible collision.

Pedestrian Dies in Dixon Highway Accident

One man lost his life during an auto accident in Dixon on Monday, April 8, 2019. The accident involved one vehicle and a pedestrian who was fatally injured. Authorities stated the name of the fatally injured man is Robert Gingerich, a 58-year-old resident of Dixon. We would like to send our sympathies to the family members and friends of Mr. Gingerich during their time of sorrow.

Two Teens Killed in Electrocution Accident

Two teenage boys were tragically killed in an electrocution accident while trying to save a dog on Monday, April 1, 2019. The accident happened about 12:30 pm along the Solano Irrigation District Canal, near Interstate 80 in Dixon. The teens, both 17 years old, have been identified as Jacob Schneider of Dixon and Jacob Hourmouzus of Elk Grove.

Rancho Cordova Fatal Crash on Highway 50

A Rancho Cordova fatal crash caused major Highway 50 traffic delays on April 3. The crash involved a cement truck and two other vehicles. It occurred shortly after 8:00 during the morning rush hour west of Sunrise Boulevard. One passenger died in the crash. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) was on hand to investigate the accident and clear the road. It is uncertain at this time if drugs or alcohol was involved in the collision. Traffic delays continued until 10 a.m. when the lanes were reopened to motorists. There was some traffic slowing on East Highway 50 for the remainder of the morning. I would like to take this time to offer my condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Brentwood Police Launch Traffic Safety Campaign

The Brentwood Police Department launched a special traffic safety campaign on Monday, April 1, 2019. The campaign is primarily focused on reminding the community to always drive with due regard and safety for others at all times. This will be the first traffic campaign that the city has seen. The local police department is intent on increasing public awareness regarding traffic safety to improve the safety of all motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians. The new campaign is promoting the slogan “Obey The Sign or Pay The Fine.” Ultimately, the goal is to positively change people’s driving-related behaviors as well as enhance their awareness regarding the rules of the road.

Woodland Man Killed In Car Accident

On Wednesday, March 27, 2019, Yolo County authorities released the identity of a man who tragically lost his life during a local car accident. California Highway Patrol (CHP) initially reported that the man was from Williams. However, the individual was later officially identified as Zachary Ortiz, a 17-year-old resident of Woodland. Additionally, five other people suffered injuries including one serious injury.

Man From Alaska Dies in Redding Area Accident

Police reported that one man lost his life in an accident that happened in a rural location east of Redding in Shasta County on Monday, March 25, 2019. The man was identified by authorities as a 77-year-old resident of the state of Alaska. No other injuries related to the accident have been reported. California Highway Patrol (CHP) has said that they are still investigating this accident in order to determine what factors were involved. I would like to send my support and sympathy to the loved ones of the man who tragically lost his life because of this collision.
