Arrest Made in Hit-and-Run Fatality Accident on West Stockton Boulevard

A DUI suspect, age 54, was arrested in Elk Grove following a hit-and-run pedestrian fatality accident on November 23. The collision was reported to the Elk Grove Police Department at about 5:15 a.m. at the intersection of West Stockton Boulevard at Whitelock Parkway. Investigators in the accident examined traffic surveillance cameras as well as those at the nearby Auto Mall and identified what they believe was the vehicle that struck the pedestrian and fled the scene. 

Accident on West Stockton Boulevard Causes Death of Pedestrian

A pedestrian fatality occurred in Elk Grove recently in a hit-and-run collision. The accident happened on West Stockton Boulevard around 5:15 a.m., according to the Elk Grove Police Department. The roadway between Whitelock Parkway and Kyler Road was shut down along West Stockton Boulevard as an investigation was conducted into the fatal crash. 

Female Pedestrian Killed in Accident on Watt Avenue

A pedestrian fatality occurred in North Highlands on November 23 after a woman was struck near an intersection. The accident happened along Watt Avenue near Winona Way at about 5:41 p.m. Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said a man in a van was heading north along Watt Avenue as a female pedestrian was crossing outside the crosswalk and struck her. 

Highway 50 Pedestrian Fatality Happens While Crossing From the Median

A pedestrian fatality was reported in Sacramento along westbound Highway 50 on the evening of November 17 when the walker was struck by several vehicles. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the pedestrian was trying to cross the highway when he was hit by two vehicles close to the area of Newton Booth near the exit for 26th Street at about 6:45 p.m. The walker was trying to run to the right-hand side of the highway from the center median when he was hit in the number two lane by a Toyota. 

Traffic Fatality Occurs at Watt Avenue Intersection 

A traffic fatality occurred in Sacramento on November 12 due to a two-vehicle accident. The head-on collision between a Hyundai Sonata and a Mercedes sedan occurred along southbound Watt Avenue at Osage Avenue around 4:46 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The Sacramento County Coroner was called to the scene to declare one person who died at the accident site.

Interstate RV Accident Occurs When Driver Strikes Overpass

An RV accident was reported near Woodland on November 7 after the driver struck an overpass. The collision occurred along Interstate 5 near County Road 17 around 11:10 a.m. According to an officer with the Woodland area California Highway Patrol (CHP), the driver of a Monaco recreation vehicle was going north along the interstate when they made a turn unsafely, causing the RV to exit the roadway and crash into the overpass. 

Fatal Accident Occurs Close to Laguna Boulevard When Driver Strikes Tree

A single-vehicle accident in Elk Grove killed the driver on November 2 after they lost control of their vehicle and struck a tree. Officers with the Elk Grove Police Department said they responded to the accident around 10:15 p.m., which occurred close to the Laguna Boulevard intersection with Laguna Main Street. The vehicle was found to have struck a tree located in the center median. 

Pedestrian Fatality Reported at Hampton Oak Drive 

A traffic accident in Elk Grove on November 2 resulted in a pedestrian fatality. The fatal collision happened around 7:15 a.m. close to the Hampton Oak Drive intersection with Canyon View Drive, according to a news release by the Elk Grove Police Department. It was reported that the man, age 72, was wearing dark clothing and westbound on the road along Hampton Oak when the collision occurred. 

Fatal Bicyclist Accident Occurs on Roseville Road

A female cyclist fatality was reported in North Highlands on October 30 after she was struck by a motor vehicle. The fatal bicycle accident happened along Roseville Road near Longview Drive around 12:30 p.m., according to a spokesperson for the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District. Sacramento police officers arrived at the scene to discover the woman had suffered major injuries.
