Pedestrian Fatality on Yosemite Blvd in Modesto

The Modesto Police Department (Modesto PD) reported a pedestrian fatality on Yosemite Blvd. in Modesto on the night of Thursday, December 17, 2020. The Modesto pedestrian accident occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m. on Yosemite Boulevard in the vicinity of Riverside Drive. A man was crossing the road when he was struck by an eastbound SUV. The SUV driver, a 25-year-old woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with local law enforcement in the investigation. The driver was believed to not have been impaired by alcohol or drugs, Modesto PD reported. The pedestrian was transported to Memorial Medical Center for treatment. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries during hospitalization. His identity has been withheld by authorities due to pending notification of his family.

Biker Killed in Motorcycle Crash on H and 6th Streets

A collision between a motorcycle and a big rig in Modesto on March 4 caused the death of the rider in the afternoon crash. According to officials with the Modesto Police Department, the accident happened at H and 6th streets around 4:00 in the afternoon. The motorcycle rider had been traveling west along H Street and the truck driver moving north along 6th when the two vehicles collided. First responders arrived at the scene, and the motorcyclist was transported to Doctors Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. The truck driver was unharmed in the collision. Pedestrian Killed After Highway 99 Crash in Modesto

A pedestrian was killed after a crash on Highway 99 in northwest Modesto on the morning of February 29, 2020. The pedestrian accident occurred around 4:40 a.m. along the slow lane of Highway 99 southbound near Kansas Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a man in his 50s was walking on the highway when a Toyota approached him. The driver of the Toyota, a 57-year-old Modesto man, was unable to take evasive action, and the right side of his car struck the pedestrian. The Toyota driver stopped and cooperated with investigators, the CHP said. Sadly, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His identity has been withheld by officials until they have notified his family.

Pedestrian Killed After Modesto DUI Accident

A pedestrian was killed after a recent DUI accident in Modesto, CA. The auto-pedestrian accident occurred at Ensenada Drive and Coffee Road shortly before 9:30 p.m. According to a Modesto Police Department spokesperson, a man was walking in the area when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle described as a 2015 Nissan Sentra sedan. First responders were called to the scene to assist the injured pedestrian, 36-year-old Psyoth Sao. Sadly, their efforts were unsuccessful as Mr. Sao succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the Nissan, identified as a Riverbank man, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. He was later arrested for reportedly driving under the influence. Additional details regarding the collision were not immediately available.

Modesto Man Killed After Highway 99 Truck Accident

A Modesto man was killed after a truck accident on Highway 99 on February 14, 2020. The crash occurred around 9:00 a.m. on northbound SR-99 just south of Hammett Road, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). A 2004 Honda minivan was reportedly parked on the east shoulder of the highway. For unknown reasons, the driver of the Honda exited his vehicle and was struck by an oncoming big rig. First responders were called to the scene where they located the injured man. Sadly, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officials have identified him as 42-year-old Benjamin Wheeler of Modesto.

Man Killed After Hit and Run Accident in Oakdale

A man was killed after a hit and run accident in Oakdale on February 9, 2020. The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. in the area of Highway 120 and Valley Home Road. A man was walking along the side of the highway when he was struck by a Chevrolet. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the driver of the Chevrolet reportedly continued north after the auto-pedestrian accident without rendering aid to the injured man. Medical personnel were called to the scene and transported him to Oak Valley Hospital, where he passed away from his injuries. Officials have identified him as 61-year-old John Hughes of Newman.

Victim Identified After Fatal Modesto Hit and Run 

Officials have identified the victim of a recent fatal hit and run in Modesto and more information about the suspect car. On the early morning of January 20, 2020, 52-year-old Thomas Butz of Modesto was hit and killed by a vehicle traveling southbound on McHenry Avenue near Kiernan Avenue. The car that struck him is described as a white or silver Toyota Camry with possible front-end damage, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The vehicle was last seen heading south of McHenry Avenue after the pedestrian accident. Man Killed After Pedestrian Accident on Coffee Road

A man was killed after a pedestrian accident along Coffee Road in Modesto, CA, on the night of January 12, 2020. The incident occurred shortly before 6:50 p.m. on Coffee Road between Ensenada Drive and Floyd Avenue. A man was walking in the area when he was hit by an oncoming car. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation, the Modesto Police Department (MPD) reported. Sadly, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased on site by first responders. Officials have identified him as Ravinder Dass, 61, of Modesto.

One Killed in Stanislaus County Head-On Collision

At least one person was killed after a head-on collision in Stanislaus County on the afternoon of January 9, 2020. The car wreck occurred around 12:14 p.m. at the intersection of West and East Stanislaus Roads and Highway 33, just northwest of Westley and Grayson. The accident involved three vehicles identified as a sedan, an SUV, and a big rig. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), at least one party was pinned in a vehicle, and a coroner was called to the scene of the truck accident. Officials have not yet identified the decedent due to pending notification of family members.
