Chronic Pain Patients – Must We Live With It?

In our law practice, we see many people who live with chronic pain – frequently of the back and neck.  Often they try numerous therapeutic approaches such as pain medications, physical therapy, chiropractic adjustments, or even back and neck injections.  Unfortunately, those treatments do not always result in the complete elimination of pain.  Does that mean people who have achy backs and necks, arthritis, sore shoulders, and headaches must just learn to live with the discomfort?  Not always.  There may be a simple way to approach chronic pain that is of a muscular origin.

Corvette Recall – Faulty Hood Can Fly Open

The 2020 Chevrolet mid-engine Corvette is undergoing a recall due to a faulty hood.  Drivers are being warned that they should remain alert for warning chimes and lights indicating that the car’s hood is not completely latched.  Failure to heed those warnings could result in the hood flying open while the car is in motion.  The Corvette recall is being issued in response to a number of complaints that have been made to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and to Chevrolet from drivers who report that their vehicle’s hood has sprung open while the car was being operated, obscuring the driver’s vision completely.

Pain Awareness Month – Time Out for Empathy

September is Pain Awareness Month.  Millions of Americans suffer from conditions that cause chronic pain.  Often we may not know by looking at a person what he or she is going through.  Chronic pain is an unwanted yet constant companion for many of our clients at  Part of our holistic approach to client care means we help our clients seek different avenues of pain management.  While surgery is an option for some, others are best cared for by other modalities such as chiropractic care, acupuncture, spinal injections, or physical therapy.  We also provide resources for our clients to seek nutritional support and options for gentle strengthening exercises such as yoga.
