Major Injuries Suffered in Two-Vehicle Crash on I-80 Causeway

A two-vehicle crash in West Sacramento on April 30 caused major injuries to one person, who had to be airlifted to a hospital. The collision happened along westbound I-80 on the causeway around 7:31 a.m., according to the report issued by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). A vehicle was reported as swerving prior to the accident, crossing over from the right-hand side to the center divider.

West Sacramento to pay victims of rapist cop

A year after being convicted of rape of at least six women, former West Sacramento police officer Sergio Alvarez’s victims (at least four of them) are set to receive a total of $2.8 million.  The money will originate from self-insurance pools that cover West Sacramento and other public entities in California.
