Tragic West Sacramento Crash
I’m Ed Smith, a West Sacramento auto accident attorney. Two people died tragically and two more were seriously hurt in a devastating crash that happened on Monday, April 11, 2016.
What Happened?
The traffic collision happened at 4:30 p.m. on Southport Parkway and Lake Washington Boulevard. Three cars were involved in a high-impact crash. West Sacramento Police Department officials said that the Jaws of Life had to be employed to free victims from mangled metal and an Air ambulance was used to take the victims to an area trauma center.
Any Fatalities in the tragic West Sacramento Crash?
Yes. Two people lost their lives. One of the victims was Lloyd Tinsley. He was 37-years-old and a resident of West Sacramento. Officials have not released the names of anyone else involved in the accident.
What Caused the Collision?
Pinpointing the cause of the crash will likely take some time. Investigators do not know yet if drugs, alcohol or speed played a role in the tragedy.
This particular stretch of road leads to the Bridgeway Lakes neighborhood. Southport Parkway is a main thoroughfare to Bridgeway Lake and Bridgeway Island as well. The speed limit on Southport Parkway is 45 mile per hour.
Residents in the area indicate drivers have been known to speed because of the parkway being a clean stretch of roadway for nearly a mile before reaching a neighborhood.
The road was closed for about six hours while investigators inspected the scene and workers’s cleaned up the debris from the roadway.
