Two Drunk Drivers Cause Accidents at South Walton Avenue Intersection

Two drunk driving incidents in Yuba City occurred within hours of each other at the same intersection on February 6. Both took place at the South Walton Avenue intersection with Camino de Flores. The first incident, which occurred at about 2:10 a.m., resulted in the arrest of a 21-year-old whose vehicle hit a tree, killing a passenger and injuring another, according to the Sutter County Sheriff’s Department

Home Struck by Possible Drunk Driver on Cooper Avenue

A late-night accident in Yuba City occurred when a suspected drunk driver drove into a residence on January 12. The house’s roof collapsed as a result. The accident occurred along Cooper Avenue near Wilkie Way. 

Fatal Accident on George Washington Boulevard 

A fatal accident near Yuba City on December 25 caused the death of one man and injured a teenager. The collision occurred on South George Washington Boulevard near Bogue Road around 10:00 p.m. The incident report issued by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) stated that a Ford Explorer and Ford Mustang were traveling in opposite directions when the head-on crash occurred. 

Driver Flees Accident Scene After Injuring a Pedestrian

A pedestrian who was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver in Yuba City was ignored by other motorists until officers found him at about 7:00 a.m. The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital with undescribed injuries. The accident occurred at the Bogue Road intersection with Garden Highway. The Yuba City Police Department determined through a surveillance video that the man was going east on foot on Bogue Road and pushed the pedestrian button to cross the street. 

Minor Seriously Injured on C Street After Being Struck in a Hit-and-Run

A Yuba City accident on November 3 that injured a young pedestrian involved a hit-and-run driver who fled the scene afterward. The accident happened along C Street at about 12:25 p.m., according to the Yuba City Police Department. Relatives of the minor said he was departing the house of a relative at the time the collision occurred and suffered a broken hip, back, ankle, knee and ribs along with other injuries. 

Accident on Colusa Highway Reportedly Caused by Drunk Driver

A head-on crash near Yuba City caused a fatality, and the driver of one of the vehicles was arrested for DUI. The accident happened along State Route 20 (Colusa Highway) and Humphrey Road, west of Yuba City, at about 1:08 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The driver of a gray pickup collided with another vehicle, leaving debris strewn across the roadway. 

State Route 30 Accident Involving Big Rig Closes Down Roadway

A major injury occurred in a big rig accident involving two vehicles in Meridian, west of Yuba City, on October 10. The collision happened along State Route 30 just west of Tarke Road around 7:23 a.m. Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) stated that the entire roadway was blocked by the collision, and two vehicles had flipped over. 

Tractor-Trailer Collides With Walnut Sweeper on Oswald Road

A semi-truck collision occurred in a rural area east of Yuba City on September 28, resulting in a major injury. The crash happened along Oswald Road just southeast of South George Washington Boulevard around 7:28 a.m. Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the accident involved a collision between a semi-truck and a walnut sweeper. A walnut sweeper is a tractor-like machine used to pick up nuts from the ground.

Highway 20 Intersection Crash Injures Nine People

A two-vehicle crash occurred in Sutter County near Yuba City on September 21 in an accident involving multiple injuries. The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 20 and Humphrey Road during the evening hours. At least nine people suffered injuries in the collision. 

Accident Near Yuba City High School Occurs When Driver Strikes Pole

A single-vehicle crash in Yuba City occurred recently when a driver struck a telephone pole. The Yuba City Police Department reported that the accident occurred along Park Avenue near the Yuba City High School between Franklin Avenue and B Street. A work crew with PG&E arrived at the scene to repair the phone pole. No information was provided by police on whether the driver was issued a citation in the incident.
