Motorcycle Accident Fatally Injures Ceres Man

A Ceres man passed away in a motorcycle accident near Jamestown on the evening of March 13, 2019. The crash happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. along Highway 120 in the vicinity of O’Byrnes Ferry Road. A man riding a Yamaha motorcycle reportedly entered the oncoming traffic lane to overtake a slower-moving vehicle. While doing so, he was struck by a driver of a Chevrolet Suburban who was also in the process of passing slower traffic. The impact of the collision caused the man to be ejected from the Yamaha, and he landed in the grass and dirt shoulder. The motorist and passenger of the Chevrolet Suburban were uninjured in the crash. Sadly, the biker was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officials have identified the decedent as 45-year-old Joshua Cody Boykin of Ceres. Modesto Pedestrian Collision Fatally Injures Man

A fatal pedestrian collision occurred near Modesto on the night of March 7 along Highway 99. The incident happened shortly before 12:45 a.m. when a man reportedly ran east from the center median across the northbound lanes of the highway. While doing so, he was struck by an oncoming 2015 Acura TL driven by a Stockton woman. The man suffered body and head trauma in the pedestrian accident. He received treatment from medical personnel but was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. Officials have identified the decedent as 35-year-old Ivan Flores of Modesto. Our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones of Mr. Flores in their time of loss and sorrow.

Riverbank DUI Accident Fatality

A Riverbank DUI accident fatality occurred on the night of February 13 along Claribel Road just east of Langworth Road. The driver of a disabled 2016 Ford F-150 pickup truck, a 23-year-old Portola man, had his hazard lights on to alert oncoming traffic. A 1982 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 56-year-old Salida man was approaching the Ford and reportedly failed to notice the pickup. The Chevrolet struck the Ford, veered off the road and crashed into a ditch along Claribel Road. The impact of the collision caused severe damage to the cab of the Chevrolet. The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet were both transported to local hospitals for treatment. Sadly, the passenger succumbed to his injuries during hospitalization. Officials have identified the decedent as Robert Dale Rodgers, a 64-year-old Salida man. Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of Mr. Rodgers in their time of loss and sorrow.

Modesto Serious Motorcycle Accident

A Modesto serious motorcycle accident occurred on January 13 at the intersection of 12th Street and M Street. A motorcyclist was riding in the area when he was struck by a vehicle at the intersection. Paramedics were called to the scene to render aid to the injured rider. He was later transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. An update regarding his condition has not yet been released by officials.

Modesto Pedestrian Accident Injures Woman — A pedestrian was left with major injuries following a hit and run accident in Modesto on October 1, 2018. The accident occurred along South Carpenter Road in the vicinity of Paradise Road at approximately 10:15 p.m. Emergency personnel responding to the scene found an injured 43-year-old Modesto woman lying along the northwest side of the intersection. The victim was transported to the Memorial Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. An update regarding her condition has not yet been released by officials.

At approximately 4:55 pm, the Ford was traveling at an unknown rate of speed when it reportedly lost control, drifted across the eastbound lanes and collided with a telephone pole located along the shoulder of the highway. The impact of the collision caused the Ford to overturn and come to a rest on its side near a vineyard. Authorities reported that the lower portion of the man’s right leg was amputated in the crash and the severed part was retrieved at the scene. Medical personnel transported the man and a female passenger to an area hospital for treatment. Sadly, the man succumbed to his injuries during hospitalization.
