Financial Recovery for Injuries and Losses From a Car Wreck

Many types of injuries may arise from a motor vehicle collision and result in the need for extensive medical treatment and time missed at work for recovery. Some of these include broken bones, TBIs, spinal cord injuries, internal trauma, and more. When a motorist is responsible for causing a catastrophic crash, the at-fault party and their insurer should be held liable for the resulting losses. This is typically done through a claim for bodily injury against the insurance company representing the motorist responsible for the car wreck.

Some situations may require an injured party to fall back on their insurance policy for reimbursement. This includes an at-fault driver with no liability insurance or not enough coverage to pay for damages resulting from the incident. Under these circumstances, an individual may have grounds for a claim through their uninsured or underinsured motorist protection. It is recommended that all drivers carry UM and UIM coverage for peace of mind.

The insurance company is not on your side after a motor vehicle collision. Insurers are businesses and are focused on protecting profit margins. It is not uncommon for an insurance adjuster to delay, devalue, or deny a claim for bodily injury. This is one of the many defense tactics insurance companies use to pay the lowest amounts possible on claims. An experienced California personal injury lawyer, like ours from AutoAccident.com, is well-versed in handling unfair tactics by insurers. When a mutual settlement agreement is not reached, an attorney can take the case to court to seek a favorable case resolution.
