What Types of Compensation are Recoverable in Wrongful Death Cases?

The reality is that nothing may ever make up for the loss of a loved one in a preventable accident. However, it is essential that surviving family members hold the negligent party or entity liable for the harm they have endured through a wrongful death action. A skilled California wrongful death lawyer will know the best way to build a strong case for maximum compensation on your behalf. Some of the losses that may be available in a claim for damages include:

  • Costs of medical care received by the close relative before their passing (recoverable via survival action)
  • Funeral service costs and the expenses for cremation or burial
  • The loss of the decedent’s support and services to the family
  • The loved one’s lost earnings and employment benefits
  • Mental anguish suffered by surviving family members
  • Loss of care, companionship, and love

A wrongful death action may arise in any type of accident that involves negligent or careless actions. At AutoAccident.com, we believe that no family should have to suffer the consequences of someone else’s negligence or carelessness.
