Three Injured After Crash in East Central Fresno

Three people were injured after an auto crash in east central Fresno on the afternoon of July 4, 2020. The car accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Clinton Avenue. A driver of a Ford Fusion was traveling northbound on Maple Avenue in the No. 1 lane. At the same time, a Cadillac was headed eastbound on Clinton Avenue in the No. 2 lane. Witnesses told officers from the Fresno Police Department (Fresno PD) that the Cadillac reportedly ran a red light at the intersection and broadsided the Ford. The impact propelled the Ford into a black truck traveling on Maple Avenue. The driver of the Ford, a woman in her early 20s, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Police later said she was listed in stable condition. The two parties of the pickup truck were also taken to the hospital with injuries described as moderate. An investigation into the motor vehicle accident is ongoing by the Fresno PD.

Two Cyclists Hit by Car in Fresno County

Two cyclists were hit by a car in the town of Friant in Fresno County on the evening of June 9, 2020. The bicycle accident occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Millerton Road and North Fork Road, just northeast of Fresno. Two cyclists were leaving Friant and were headed eastbound on Millerton Rd. At the same time, a 1998 Honda Civic was traveling westbound on Millerton Road. For unknown reasons, the Honda veered onto the shoulder and overcorrected to the left across the oncoming traffic lane, crashing into the two bicycle riders. The cyclists were taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries. Both are expected to survive, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Pedestrian Injured After Hit and Run in Fresno

The Fresno Police Department (Fresno PD) are searching for a driver responsible for a hit and run accident that left a pedestrian injured on the night of Monday, June 8, 2020. The pedestrian accident occurred around 10:00 p.m. at Rialto Avenue and Blackstone Avenue in northwest Fresno. Fresno police said a man was crossing Blackstone Avenue when a driver of a dark-colored vehicle crashed into him at high speeds and fled the scene. Witnesses informed authorities that the driver did not reduce their speed nor use their brakes and drove away. The pedestrian injured in the hit and run accident was taken to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. An update regarding their condition was not immediately available. Child Hospitalized After Fresno Rollover Accident

A child was hospitalized and in critical condition after a rollover accident in Fresno, CA, on the afternoon of May 25, 2020. The car accident occurred shortly before 5:00 p.m. on Highway 168 and Gooseberry Lane. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) said a 25-year-old man reportedly lost control of his vehicle on State Route 168, veered off the roadway, and overturned on the shoulder. A 4-year-old boy suffered serious injuries in the crash and was transported via air ambulance to Valley Children’s Hospital for treatment. Additional information about the rollover was not immediately available.

Man Arrested After Fresno County DUI Crash

A Kingsburg man was arrested for DUI and causing a crash in Fresno County on the night of May 25, 2020. The car accident occurred in a rural area near Parlier, CA. A 41-year-old Kingsburg man was reportedly driving his Toyota Corolla at excessive speeds shortly before clipping a Chevrolet Malibu, propelling the vehicle into a tree, and pinning the driver inside. The Kingsburg man crashed his Toyota into an orchard shortly after the initial collision. The woman driving the Chevrolet was extricated from her vehicle by first responders. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of leg injuries, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office. The driver of the Toyota was not seriously injured and was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI). Officials said he was later released from jail on California’s emergency bail rule.

Cyclist Killed After Fresno County Accident

A cyclist was killed, and a motorcyclist was injured after an accident in Fresno County on May 24, 2020. The bicycle accident occurred shortly before 12:00 p.m. near Millerton Road and Auberry Road, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Authorities said a 39-year-old man was riding a motorcycle southbound on Auberry Rd. and an elderly man riding a bicycle was headed the same direction. Police said the cyclist was struck by the motorcyclist for unknown reasons. The motorcycle rider suffered arm injuries. However, it is unknown whether he was hospitalized for his injuries. First responders attempted to revive the bicyclist, but sadly, he passed away at the scene. Officials have identified him as 72-year-old Steven Meunier of Clovis.

Pedestrian Killed After Accident in Central Fresno

A person was killed after a recent pedestrian accident on East Shields Avenue and North Maroa Avenue in central Fresno. At approximately 9:15 p.m., the Fresno Police Department (Fresno PD) responded to the scene of a fatal collision involving a pedestrian and a motor vehicle. The driver of the car claimed to not have seen the pedestrian crossing the street and crashed into them, the Fresno PD reported. Sadly, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased on-site by authorities. The Madera County Coroner’s Office has identified the decedent as 27-year-old Isaac Romero of Fresno.

Injuries Reported After Car Accident in Fresno

Injuries were reported after a car accident involving several vehicles on Highway 180 in Fresno on the night of March 28, 2020. Officials with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said the incident occurred along the westbound lanes of SR-180 near the interchange with Highway 168. A driver of a Toyota Camry was reportedly traveling over 100 mph and rear-ended another car. The Toyota came to a rest in an embankment where it caught fire while the other vehicle became disabled along the highway and sparked a chain reaction collision. The incident involved a total of seven cars. One of the parties involved in the crash suffered unspecified injuries and was taken to a hospital in Selma. The driver of the Toyota sustained severe head injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center. Once the Toyota driver is released from the hospital, they will be booked into the Fresno County Jail on various charges, according to CHP.

Central Fresno Pedestrian Fatality

A pedestrian fatality was reported after a traffic accident in central Fresno on the morning of Thursday, March 19, 2020. The pedestrian accident happened around 4:00 a.m. on West Princeton and North Weber avenues. A man was walking in the area when he was hit and killed by a pickup truck. The Fresno Police Department said that the driver of the pickup remained at the scene and was cooperative with officials. The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has identified the decedent as 32-year-old Anthony Choza of Fresno. A GoFundMe page has been established on behalf of Mr. Choza’s family to help cover his funeral expenses.

Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Reedley

A recent fatal accident in Reedley, CA, left a pedestrian dead. The pedestrian accident occurred shortly after midnight at Rio Vista Avenue and Manning Avenue. According to the Reedley Police Department, a pedestrian was walking in the area when they were hit by a Jeep Cherokee. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene of the crash and determined that the pedestrian passed away. The identity of the decedent has been withheld by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as they are working to notify their family.
