Greenback Lane Traffic Accident Shoves SUV Into Building

A traffic accident in Citrus Heights on January 16 caused an SUV to crash into a Dairy Queen, causing injuries to patrons sitting in a booth. The collision occurred along Greenback Lane between Dewey Drive and Hilltree Avenue and was the result of a two-vehicle crash. Three clients were seated at a booth inside the building when the SUV crashed through the restaurant’s wall. 

Minor Injury Reported in Two-Vehicle Collision

A traffic crash involving two vehicles occurred on a Citrus Heights highway on May 4, resulting in a minor injury. The accident was reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) around 8:24 a.m. on Interstate 80 westbound, just west of the scales. The collision involved a Honda Accord and a Tesla, both of which were undrivable and had to be towed. 

Injury Collision Near the I-80 Scales Involves Three Vehicles

A three-vehicle crash on I-80 in Citrus Heights on July 21 injured at least one person. According to the accident report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the collision occurred shortly before noon along westbound I-80 near the I-80 west scales. It involved a Nissan Altima, GMC Acadia and a Ford Fusion. 

Madison Avenue Intersection Accident Involves Semi and Three Other Vehicles

A major injury accident involving a rollover of one of the cars occurred in Citrus Heights on July 12. The accident was caused by a collision between two passenger vehicles and two trucks, one of them a semi. The police report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) stated that the accident occurred at the intersection of Madison and San Juan avenues around 7:32 in the morning. The passenger vehicles involved were a Genesis SUV and a Hyundai. 

Four-Vehicle Crash Reported on I-80 in Citrus Heights

Accident injuries were reported in a four-vehicle crash in Citrus Heights on February 7. According to the report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident happened on eastbound I-80, just east of Antelope Road, around 10:25 in the morning. A pickup, Nissan, and several other vehicles were involved.

Two-Vehicle Crash Along Sunrise Boulevard Causes Injuries

Two accident injuries occurred in Citrus Heights recently during a collision caused by a negligent driver. The accident happened on Sunrise Boulevard north of Sayonara Drive when a suspected drunk driver went over the median and crashed into a Toyota Rav4 carrying two people and an infant. Both vehicles sustained major damage, and the Toyota rolled, ending up on its side. 

Intersection Accident Causes Injuries in Citrus Heights

A single-vehicle crash occurred in Citrus Heights when a driver hit a utility pole on October 24, 2020. The Citrus Heights Police, who were summoned to the accident scene, said that the single-vehicle crash happened at the intersection of Auburn Boulevard and Van Maren Lane at about 7:45 in the morning hours. The police report confirmed that the vehicle was traveling the wrong way in the traffic lanes before its impact with the pole. 

Too Many Accidents at Fair Oaks Blvd. and Old Auburn Rd.

An intersection in Citrus Heights is under fire by neighbors who say it is too dangerous after three crashes in less than 48 hours over Thanksgiving. It is located at Fair Oaks Boulevard and Old Auburn Road. Neighbors such as Jesse Durham are worried about their safety. To prevent damage to the neighbors’ property, barriers have been erected. However, Durham notes that there is always the worry that the barriers will be knocked down, and the next crash could be in his backyard. Durham has witnessed 10 crashes since moving into the neighborhood three years ago. The longest stretch of barriers is adjacent to Durham’s property, and he said you always have it in the back of your mind that a vehicle could end up in your bedroom. Aside from recent activity, the intersection near his home, Durham says, has been an issue for a long time. 

Citrus Heights Vehicle Rollover Damages Water Main

A vehicle rollover accident caused flooding in Citrus Heights when the car hit a Sacramento main water line. The Sacramento Fire Department said that the rollover accident happened at approximately 4:18 p.m. at Antelope Road and Orange Avenue. In addition to the water main, a fire hydrant was also damaged. Four nearby homes were flooded by the torrent of water pouring out onto the area. Reports from the scene said that garages and yards sustained the most flooding. Authorities said that the flooding caused by the rollover accident was controlled by 8:30 p.m. The driver of the overturned vehicle was transported to the hospital for treatment. 

Multi-vehicle Collision in Citrus Heights

A multi-vehicle collision occurred in Citrus Heights on March 12, that involved six or seven vehicles and caused at least one injury. The accident happened shortly after 8:00 in the evening along Interstate 80 westbound, just west of the Antelope Road eastbound on-ramp. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers arrived at the scene, which was described as blocking three out of four lanes. Debris was strewn across all lanes of the roadway from the collision. Although an ambulance was summoned to the accident site, no further information about the nature of the injury was given at the time of this report. In addition, tow trucks were required to remove at least some of the vehicles.
