Morse Avenue and Hurley Way Site of Intersection Accident

An intersection accident involving two vehicles occurred in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento recently at about 10:44 in the morning. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) was alerted by someone who heard the crash but did not see it. The accident happened at the intersection of Morse Avenue and Hurley Way between a Hyundai and an Audi. 

Watt Avenue Rollover Accident Blocks Traffic

A rollover accident reportedly occurred because of a hit and run in Arden-Arcade on May 27, leaving one person injured. Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) were called to the accident around noon along northbound Watt Avenue just north of Fair Oaks Boulevard. They discovered a blue motor vehicle upside down and blocking the number one and number two lanes. 

Intersection Accident Between Two Vehicles in Arden-Arcade

An accident between two vehicles in Arden-Arcade on March 17 at a local intersection resulted in injuries. The collision was reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) as occurring at Auburn and Watt avenues around 8:19 p.m. between a hybrid van and station wagon. A caller reported that someone in the station wagon was injured in the crash. Several other callers also reported the accident. One said the male driver of the hybrid van appeared very upset, while another said that the motorist appeared to be trying to leave the scene of the crash. According to an additional witness, the hybrid van driver was throwing bottles of alcohol out the window of his vehicle. A tow truck was called to remove at least one of the vehicles. The CHP did not say whether anyone was taken into custody as a result of the accident between the two vehicles.

Arden-Arcade Accident Results in Injuries

A two-vehicle accident in Arden-Arcade on February 27 resulted in injuries. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the collision happened shortly before 2:00 in the afternoon along Fair Oaks Boulevard, where it connects with Fulton Avenue between a Ford Mustang and sedan. A witness to the accident reported that the motorist in the Mustang was moving recklessly by speeding and cutting in and out of the lanes and that this led to the traffic collision. The CHP is investigating to determine exactly what happened and to assign fault in the accident. It is uncertain whether or not drugs and alcohol were involved in the crash. 

Residents Lose Power After Alleged Drunk Driving Crash

A motorist suspected of drunk driving crashed a Corvette into an electric pole on January 12. That incident knocked out the power for around 10,000 Arden Arcade customers. The accident happened along Arden Way close to Watt Avenue at around 9:30 in the evening. By Monday morning, SMUD had restored power to all but a few businesses and homes as well as Arden Middle School, where classes had been canceled for the day. The driver was taken into custody at the accident scene, according to a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol (CHP), and had suffered injuries that were described as minor. 

Vehicle Flips After Striking Parked Car on Morse Avenue

A rollover accident in Arden Arcade on January 10, 2020, caused the death of the driver. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the accident occurred at 1:45 in the early morning hours. The driver hit a parked vehicle on Morse Avenue in the vicinity of Hurley Way. The vehicle then rolled over, landing on its side, causing the driver to be ejected. Rescue personnel on the scene transported the individual, who was seriously injured, to the hospital for treatment. At this time, authorities are investigating the rollover accident to determine why it happened. It is uncertain as of the time of this report if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash. 

Arden Arcade Intersection Hit and Run Accident 

A hit and run accident with injuries occurred in an Arden Arcade intersection at 7:31 in the evening on December 26, 2019. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the collision happened at the crossroads of Howe Avenue and Cottage Way. This is in the vicinity of Howe Community Park. The intersection hit and run accident involved a Dodge Charger and a pickup truck. Reports from the scene indicate that one person was seen running from the crash site. The pickup was carrying a load of paint cans. Although the cans fell from the truck, there were no reports of leakage onto the pavement. Both vehicles were moved to the right-hand side of the road. Despite moving the vehicles, there was considerable debris in the intersection. Authorities are investigating the intersection accident and looking for the fleeing driver. 

Intersection Accident in Arden Arcade

An intersection accident occurred on December 19, 2019, at the corner of Whitney and Eastern avenues in Arden Arcade at about 5:48 p.m. The collision, which resulted in a suspected head injury to a 5-year-old girl, involved a Nissan pickup and an Infiniti sedan. The injured juvenile was the daughter of the Nissan’s driver. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) and the Sacramento Fire Department were called to the scene. An ambulance was requested by emergency responders to transport the child to the hospital for evaluation and treatment. Both vehicles were located on the right side of the road. An investigation is underway to determine why and how the intersection accident happened. There is no indication as to the time of this report that drugs or alcohol were involved. 

Juvenile Injured in Pedestrian Accident

A juvenile pedestrian accident in Arden Arcade on December 16, 2019, seriously injured a child near Whitney Elementary School. It occurred at 2:58 p.m. adjacent to the facility at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Whitney Avenue. According to a witness, a black sedan struck the juvenile, causing a major lower extremity injury. When the California Highway Patrol (CHP) arrived, the minor was lying in the roadway due to the leg injury. Rescue personnel from Sacramento Fire were called to the scene to evaluate the minor’s injuries. The CHP is actively investigating the crash to determine why it occurred. The juvenile pedestrian accident blocked the turn lane on Eastern Avenue for some time while emergency personnel administered to the child, and the investigation proceeded. 

Arden Arcade Traffic Accident Sends Three to Hospital

A traffic collision in Arden Arcade on Wednesday evening, December 11, injured an adult and two children near a local shopping area. The accident occurred along Watt Avenue near Arden Way at around 7:15 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), when a pickup struck a car that was pulling out of the shopping area. The driver of the pickup was injured. It was not reported which vehicle the children were riding in. The CHP is in charge of the investigation into what caused the crash.
