Taylor Street Intersection Collision Involves Two Vehicles

A two-vehicle intersection collision in Sacramento recently caused major damage to the vehicles involved. Initially, the Sacramento Police Department was notified of the accident at around 11:49 p.m. on Taylor Street and Naruth Way as involving injuries. When first responders with the Sacramento Fire Department arrived, they discovered both the wrecked vehicles and involved parties at the scene. It was not reported whether alcohol or drugs were involved in the cause of the crash. It is under investigation to determine what happened.

Mazda and GMC Yukon Collide in Carmichael Intersection

Two people were transported to a hospital with injuries following an intersection accident in Carmichael on July 30. The accident occurred when a Mazda and a GMC Yukon collided at Marconi Avenue and Gunn Road around 12:18 in the afternoon. According to the report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the Mazda then struck a tree. 

IIHS Resumes Crash Tests Following Months of Shutdown

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) resumed work earlier this month that had previously been on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The Institute’s Vehicle Research Center (VRC), which is located in Virginia, closed in March when the state enacted pandemic restrictions.  Employees continued to work remotely, but track evaluations and crash tests were temporarily ceased.  

Eastbound Florin Road Site of Ford Fusion Rollover

A major injury occurred in Sacramento on July 19 in a solo vehicle rollover. The accident occurred in the Florin area along northbound State Route 99 at the eastbound Florin Road entrance ramp around 6:52 p.m. It was reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) that a Ford Fusion went off the entrance ramp into an area of dirt and grass and rolled over but landed back on its wheels.

Automobile Sales Lot Sustains Major Damage on Auburn Boulevard

A major accident that resulted in the death of the driver occurred in Citrus Heights on July 17. It happened when a driver, who was reportedly driving at a high rate of speed and intoxicated, crashed into the sales lot of M3 Motors around 11:41 p.m. Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and Citrus Heights Police as well as responders with Sac Fire arrived at the scene of the crash on Auburn Boulevard and Manzanita Avenue.  Police discovered that the solo vehicle had exited the roadway and severely damaged about a dozen cars before ending up hung on a fence. 

Pedestrian Killed in Sacramento Accident

A fatal accident occurred in the southern part of Sacramento on July 13 when a vehicle struck a pedestrian. The accident occurred in the area of Lemon Hill along eastbound Fruitridge Road at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The driver involved in the fatal accident remained at the scene and was cooperating with Sacramento Police Department officers who were investigating the incident. 

Injured Pedestrian Transported to Hospital After Fulton Avenue Crash

A pedestrian accident occurred in Arden-Arcade shortly before midnight at the intersection of Loma Vista Drive and Fulton Avenue. The California Highway Patrol (CHP), Metro Fire, and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office were all at the scene. The emergency responders found an injured individual lying by the side of Fulton Avenue, facing north. 

Pedestrian Injured in Butterfield Way and Folsom Boulevard Intersection Crash

An intersection crash in the La Riviera area of Sacramento caused injury to at least one person on July 8. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported the accident happened just before 11:00 a.m. at the intersection of Butterfield Way and Folsom Boulevard between a Mazda and Mini Cooper. Medical assistance was requested by one of the persons involved in the accident for a complaint of pain.

A Red-Light Runner Causes the Death of an Elderly Man

A South Sacramento intersection was the site of a fatal accident on July 4 that claimed the life of an elderly. The accident happened at the junction of Stockton Boulevard and Lindale Avenue at about 2:45 in the afternoon. A woman, 25, driving a Lexus, ran a red light on Stockton northbound, hitting the man’s Acura traveling west on Lindale.
