Two Vehicles Collide in Arden-Arcade Resulting in Injuries

Intersection Accident Between Two Vehicles in Arden-Arcade

An accident between two vehicles in Arden-Arcade on March 17 at a local intersection resulted in injuries. The collision was reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) as occurring at Auburn and Watt avenues around 8:19 p.m. between a hybrid van and station wagon. A caller reported that someone in the station wagon was injured in the crash. Several other callers also reported the accident. One said the male driver of the hybrid van appeared very upset, while another said that the motorist appeared to be trying to leave the scene of the crash. According to an additional witness, the hybrid van driver was throwing bottles of alcohol out the window of his vehicle. A tow truck was called to remove at least one of the vehicles. The CHP did not say whether anyone was taken into custody as a result of the accident between the two vehicles.

Drunk Driving and Accidents Involving Two Vehicles

Drunk drivers are responsible for many accident injuries every year. A drunk driver shows poor judgment and reflexes, a lack of coordination and drinking even impairs a motorist’s vision. A driver who is arrested and convicted of a drunk driving charge in a two-vehicle accident resulting in injuries to another is proof of negligence. This information can be used to obtain compensation for the injured person either through a settlement with the insurance company or a verdict in civil court. However, having other evidence to present is helpful to obtain damages. An experienced lawyer who has handled cases involving drunk drivers is helpful in obtaining what the injured person deserves. It can be used to cover all the medical expenses incurred as well as lost wages and to compensate the injured person for their pain and suffering. Drunk drivers can cause the following types of accidents:

  • Front-end collisions: Drunk drivers exhibit poor judgment and reflexes, which can lead to a head-on crash if they ignore another driver’s right of way or that another car is turning.
  • Rear-end crashes: Because drunk drivers cannot accurately judge distances and have poor reflexes, they may not be able to stop in time to prevent an accident between two vehicles.
  • T-bone collisions: A T-bone happens when one motorist crashes into the side of another vehicle. A drunk driver often doesn’t anticipate other motorists and reacts too slowly to prevent an accident.

Seeking Help From a Personal Injury Lawyer

At the Law Offices of Edward A. Smith, we have extensive experience in accident cases involving two vehicles and have helped many people recover the compensation they deserve. We send our investigators out to the accident site to recover evidence, which starts with interviewing witnesses and looking for mistakes in the police report. Afterward, the investigators perform accident reconstruction, which is heavily used by insurance companies and courts as evidence of how the accident occurred. Businesses and traffic cameras are searched for real-time videos of the crash involving the two vehicles. Problems with road maintenance that might have caused the crash are searched for by the investigators, too, because the government entity in charge may be held responsible. When the evidence has all been gathered together, it is given over to our lawyers to build a case against the at-fault party and for our client. It can be used either in preparing a case for court or in negotiating on the client’s behalf with the insurance company.
