Oroville Single-Car Crash Reported on Oro Bangor Highway

An Oroville single-car crash caused major injuries recently when the vehicle overturned on Oro Bangor Highway. The accident happened just before 10:00 a.m., just south of Swedes Flat. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) discovered the vehicle overturned onto the driver’s side and blocked the highway’s northbound lane. An extensive amount of debris further blocked the road. 

Route 162 Intersection Site of Fatal Pedestrian Accident

A fatal pedestrian accident occurred just west of Oroville near the bridge on September 5. The collision was reported by a woman in a Toyota Tacoma pickup, who called the California Highway Patrol (CHP) around 6:00 a.m. She had pulled over to the right-hand side of State Route 162 and 99 and said she believed she had struck a pedestrian. 

Oroville Major Injury Crash Occurs on Larkin Road

An Oroville major injury crash happened on July 26 when two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision. The collision occurred around 10:00 a.m. on Larkin Road at the bridge for the Feather River outlet. The two vehicles involved were a Dodge Ram 1500 and a GMC SUV, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP)

Injuries Reported in Highway 70 Two-Vehicle Car Crash

Two serious injuries were reported in a two-vehicle car crash near Oroville on May 7. The accident was reported around 5:00 p.m. along Highway 70 by the California Highway Patrol. Cal Fire and Chico firefighters arrived at the scene to determine accident injuries. 

Single-Vehicle Fatality Crash Occurs on Willow Glen Road

A Yuba County solo-vehicle fatality crash occurred on April 18 near Oroville. The accident was reported as occurring along Willow Glen Road, which is close to Pine Ridge Drive, shortly after 5:00 a.m. The roadway was shut down between Marysville and Frenchtown roads to clear the scene and investigate the cause of the collision. It was not reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) whether the fatality was to the driver or there were others in the vehicle.

Pedestrian Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash at Autrey Avenue Intersection

A hit-and-run in Oroville on March 7 caused injuries to a female pedestrian at a local intersection. The accident occurred around 8:28 a.m. at the intersection of Autrey and Las Plumas avenues. The incident report issued by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said that a Toyota Matrix was suspected as the vehicle the driver fled in.

The KEYS Grant – Keeping Everyone Safe

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) recently issued a press release describing its determination to assist motorists aged 65 and older in keeping their driver’s license and driving independence. This goal will be pursued through the financial support of a renewed annual federal program called the KEYS Grant. The acronym stands for Keeping Everyone Safe and is in its thirteenth iteration. Through federal funding from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the CHP will keep offering in-person and virtual traffic safety programs that emphasize mobility combined with road safety for senior drivers throughout the state of California.
