Oroville Single-Car Crash Reported on Oro Bangor Highway

An Oroville single-car crash caused major injuries recently when the vehicle overturned on Oro Bangor Highway. The accident happened just before 10:00 a.m., just south of Swedes Flat. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) discovered the vehicle overturned onto the driver’s side and blocked the highway’s northbound lane. An extensive amount of debris further blocked the road.

Medics Transport Driver to Hospital With Major Injuries

The Butte County Fire Department was called to the scene, where they discovered the driver had suffered major injuries. The driver was taken to a hospital for treatment. An investigation into the cause of the collision is underway by CHP traffic accident detectives.

Causes of an Oroville Single-Car Crash

Driver error is the major cause of accidents involving a single vehicle, which includes speeding, intoxication, and driving distracted. There can also be external factors involved in single-vehicle accidents. As a result, the injured party may be entitled to compensation, including reimbursement for medical expenses and lost wages.

Mechanical Failure Can Cause an Accident

Defective vehicle parts can cause an Oroville single-car crash. There are a number of reasons for this type of accident, including:

  • Failure to brake: If the driver cannot brake, the vehicle will continue to accelerate, and a collision may occur.
  • Tires: When a tire blows out or suffers tread separation, the vehicle can lose control, resulting in a crash.
  • Accelerator: The accelerator can cause an accident if it stops working or sticks.
  • Power steering loss: In the event of a power steering failure, the wheels may lock up, making the car impossible to control.
  • Engine failure: An engine that suddenly stalls while driving does not allow the driver to control the situation.

Auto product liability claims can be filed by those injured in an Oroville single-car crash when mechanical defects lead to accidents. The vehicle should not be destroyed after an accident so that engineers can inspect it for defects.

A Government’s Negligent Road Maintenance

In addition to potholes and fissures on the road, some roads are poorly designed and have uneven paving. If faulty maintenance results in an injury, government and municipal entities could be held liable. You may want to consult a lawyer when dealing with a government entity. There is only a six-month limitation on filing a lawsuit.

You can avoid any delays in filing your paperwork by hiring an attorney to ensure the paperwork is properly completed and filed before the statute of limitations runs out. The court will not hear the case if it is filed too late. As a result of my firm’s successful resolution of numerous lawsuits of this type over the years, I can assist you in getting the compensation you deserve and need.
