The Charming Town of Orangevale

Orangevale, California is located within Sacramento County, between Folsom and Citrus Heights. It was originally called Orange Vale, but the name gradually morphed into Orangevale.  It is sometimes referred to by locals as “The Vale.”  The area was once largely agricultural and, not surprisingly, it got its name from the many orange groves that used to occupy its main streets.  Although the region is now much more urbanized, Orangevale still manages to maintain a more rural feel than many of Sacramento’s other suburbs.
