Traffic Collision Being Investigated to Determine Cause

Details about how the traffic collision occurred were not provided. Authorities asked motorists to avoid the crash area, and traffic delays were expected as an investigation into the cause of the accident was held and the scene cleared. The accident is under investigation to determine how it occurred.

Negligence as a Cause of a Traffic Accident

Around 95 percent of all traffic collisions are the result of negligence. In an accident involving multiple vehicles, more than one driver may be at fault. Some of the reasons these collisions occur include:

  • Drunk or drugged driving
  • Reckless driving such as speeding or running a red light
  • Fatigued driving
  • Distracted driving in the form of talking on a cell phone or texting

Dealing With the Insurance Company After a Traffic Collision

You could suffer serious injuries if you are involved in a traffic collision. When a negligent driver was the cause, you deserve compensation for your injuries. The insurance company might not be agreeable to paying for your losses. After all, insurance companies are businesses. As such, their aim is to make as much profit as possible while keeping payouts low.

This is one of the reasons they make a low offer soon after your accident, especially if you are injured. They hope the injured person will accept, which means they sign an agreement that they cannot ask for more money.

Disputes Are Common in Traffic Accidents

A multiple-vehicle traffic collision may result in a dispute because insurance companies don’t want to assume responsibility and want to avoid making payouts. A common tactic is to try and place the blame on another driver, mainly you. By having an aggressive and successful lawyer at your side, you can help protect your rights while your attorney works hard to obtain the fair compensation you deserve.
