Fleeing Driver Accident at Auburn Folsom Road Intersection Injures Rider

At an intersection, a Kawasaki sports bike rider was struck by a fleeing driver in a Granite Bay crash on August 18. The collision occurred at the Auburn Folsom Road intersection with Eureka Road around 2:00 in the afternoon. The accident blocked the slow lane, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Barton Road Intersection Accident Caused by Running a Red Light

An intersection accident in Granite Bay, resulting in a fatality and injuries, occurred on July 16 after the driver of a Jeep ran a red light. The accident happened at the Barton Road intersection with Douglas Boulevard at about 5:45 p.m. A report of the accident by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said when the Jeep ran the red light, it crashed into a Cadillac Escalade. 

Fatal Motorcycle Accident Occurs on Douglas Boulevard 

A fatal motorcycle accident transpired near Granite Bay on May 8 following a collision with an SUV. The accident happened on Douglas Boulevard eastbound near Berg Street in the afternoon. The woman driving the SUV was attempting a U-turn when the motorcycle struck her vehicle at high speed, according to the California Highway Patrol

Reported Impaired Driver Strikes Walmart Cookie Stand

A reported impaired driver behind the wheel of a Tesla in Granite Bay ran into a stand being run by the Girl Scouts in front of a local Walmart on February 25. The accident occurred at the Walmart on Sierra College at the intersection with Douglas Boulevard at about 3:50 p.m., where the girls were selling products. Two juveniles were working at the stand at the time and suffered moderate injuries. 

Bicycle Injury Crash Reported on Roseville Parkway

A bicycle injury crash occurred on February 15 in Granite Bay which hospitalized the rider. The collision occurred between a Toyota Rav and the rider around 10:12 a.m. along eastbound Roseville Parkway just west of Barton Road. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) report, the vehicle and rider were found on the right-hand side of the roadway following the collision. 

What Are the New Traffic Laws for 2021?

As we ring out the old year this week, we need to be aware of a few new traffic laws that will affect California road travel come January 1, 2021.  The California Highway Patrol (CHP) issued a press release highlighting some of the new safety laws that go into effect during the new year.
