Motorcyclist Killed in Southern Fresno County Crash

A motorcyclist was killed in a southern Fresno County crash on the morning of August 13, 2019. The motorcycle accident occurred shortly after 6:10 a.m. at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Manning Avenue. Officers from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said a man was riding his motorcycle eastbound when a Jeep SUV made a turn in front of him. Officials reported that the biker did not have enough time to react and collided with the Jeep, which propelled him off his motorcycle. Those who witnessed the collision tried to help the injured man. Sadly, he was not able to overcome his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The decedent has been identified by officials as 54-year-old Mark Bristol of Parlier. I would like to send my thoughts and prayers to the friends and family of Mr. Bristol in their time of loss.

Biker Killed in Fresno County Head-On Collision

A biker was killed in a Fresno County head-on collision on the afternoon of August 11, 2019. The motorcycle accident occurred just after 2:30 p.m. at Highway 41 and Harlan Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), an SUV was traveling northbound on Highway 41 while a motorcyclist was headed south. The SUV driver reportedly attempted to overtake another vehicle, entered the oncoming traffic lane, and collided with the motorcycle rider head-on. The occupants of the SUV escaped serious injuries in the crash, CHP said. Sadly, the motorcyclist passed away at the scene. Officials have identified the biker as 49-year-old Cary Williams of Fresno. One Killed in Fresno County DUI Crash

One person was killed, and three others were injured in a Fresno County DUI crash on the afternoon of July 29, 2019. The car accident occurred shortly after 12:40 p.m. along Highway 180 and Rio Vista Avenue, just west of Minkler. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV veered over the center median and collided head-on with a 2011 Ford Explorer. The Chevrolet driver, a 40-year-old Selma man, was taken to the hospital where he was booked on charges of driving under the influence. Three of the four passengers in the Ford were transported via air ambulance to the hospital for treatment of major injuries. Sadly, the fourth passenger succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The decedent has been identified by officials as 47-year-old Rosario Montalvo of Fresno. One Killed in Southeast Fresno Car Accident

One person was killed, and two others were critically injured in a southeast Fresno car accident on the night of July 20, 2019. The incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Kings Canyon Road. A preliminary report by the Fresno Police Department suggested two parties were driving together southbound along Maple Road. The driver had a green light and was proceeding through the intersection. Authorities say another motorist ran a red light and crashed into the vehicle carrying the party of two. Sadly, the driver of the car with the green light passed away at the scene, and his passenger was transported to the hospital for treatment of critical injuries. Officials have identified the decedent as 40-year-old Shawn Milton. Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of Mr. Milton during this difficult time.

One Killed in Fresno County Rollover Accident 

One person was killed, and four others were injured in a Fresno County rollover accident on the afternoon of July 5, 2019. The incident occurred shortly after 1:45 p.m. along Highway 145 just south of Floral Avenue near Kerman. A preliminary report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) suggested that the crash involved a 2006 Dodge Durango SUV and a tractor-trailer. The impact of the truck accident propelled the Dodge off the road, causing the SUV to overturn several times. Four of the five parties riding in the Dodge suffered moderate to major injuries. They were transported to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. Sadly, the fifth occupant of the Dodge succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Officials have not yet named the decedent due to pending notification of their family members. Fresno County Double Fatality Accident

A Fresno County double fatality accident occurred on the night of March 4 along Highway 180 near Hayes Avenue, just west of Fresno. According to a preliminary report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a man was driving a 2018 Mercedes-Benz eastbound along the westbound lane of Highway 180 shortly after 11:00 p.m. At the same time, a woman was driving a 2015 Honda west along the highway and was unable to avoid the oncoming Mercedes-Benz. This resulted in a head-on collision. Sadly, both drivers succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Officials have identified the decedents as 22-year-old Yvette Jimenez of Firebaugh and 23-year-old Emad Murshed of Kerman. I would like to send my sincere thoughts and condolences to the loved ones of Ms. Jimenez and Mr. Murshed in their time of loss.

A car accident in southeast Fresno claimed the life of one man and left two others injured on the night of February 17, 2019. The collision occurred shortly before 7:00 p.m. along Chestnut Avenue just south of Church Avenue. Officials responding to the scene found three vehicles, including a Jeep Cherokee that overturned in the crash. A preliminary report suggested that the Jeep was traveling with a Toyota sedan and a third vehicle when the collision occurred. Two passengers in the Jeep, both children, were transported to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Their ages were not immediately available, but they were reported to be in good and stable condition by authorities. Sadly, one additional passenger in the Jeep succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Authorities have identified the decedent as 19-year-old Hector Sandoval of Los Angeles. Our deepest sympathies and condolences are with those grieving the loss of their loved one during this difficult time.

Accident Kills Veteran Fresno Police Officer

Two men lost their lives in a car accident just east of Fresno on February 4, 2019. The incident occurred around 5:00 in the afternoon along Highway 180 in the vicinity of McCall Avenue. A driver of a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling eastbound along the westbound lanes of the highway and reportedly crashed into five cars while weaving through traffic. The Chevrolet continued for a short time before striking a Dodge Ram pickup truck head-on. Occupants in the other five vehicles suffered minor to moderate injuries. Sadly, the drivers of the Dodge and Chevrolet passed away at the scene. Officials from the Fresno County Coroner’s Office have identified the decedents as 48-year-old Phia Vang and 33-year-old Cameron Pryor, both residents of Fresno. We send our sympathy to the loved ones of Mr. Vang and Mr. Pryor as they are mourning the loss of their family member and friend.

Fresno County Accident Fatality

A Fresno County accident fatality occurred recently along Gettysburg Avenue and Ashlan Avenue in Clovis. A Toyota Prius reportedly struck the driver’s door of a Honda Civic shortly before 10:00 in the morning. The impact of the collision caused the Honda to overturn onto the roof. Emergency crews were called to the scene to extricate the man driving the Honda out of the vehicle. He was transported to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The decedent has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as Gregory Labiak, a 72-year-old resident of Clovis. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Mr. Labiak during their time of loss.

Fresno DUI Accident Fatality

A Fresno DUI accident fatality occurred on January 18 along Blackstone and Clintstone Avenues. The driver of a pickup truck was reportedly speeding along Blackstone Avenue when the vehicle veered off the road and careened through a nearby parking lot. The pickup truck later struck a tree in the lot and came to a rest on its side after the impact. The driver allegedly fled the scene after the auto accident, leaving behind his injured passenger. Medical personnel were called to the scene to transport the passenger to a local hospital for immediate treatment. Sadly, the passenger was unable to overcome his injuries and passed away during hospitalization. Officials have identified the decedent as 58-year-old Avery Sharp of Clovis.
