Trauma Suffered During Car Crash in Fairfield

On Thursday, September 3, 2020, a car crash in Fairfield left at least one person with serious injuries. According to information reported by California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash took place at night and involved two vehicles. The number of people injured during the accident and the severity of the injuries sustained have not yet been reported. The cause of the crash is being investigated.

The Solano Area California Highway Patrol (CHP) released a statement on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, indicating that they would be increasing enforcement efforts during Labor Day weekend. The increased patrols are part of a concerted effort to reduce the number of fatalities and serious injuries suffered as the result of car accidents during a period that typically sees higher instances of reckless driving.

Thousands Evacuated as Fires Spread to Solano County

In the early morning of Wednesday, August 19, 2020, several homes burned to the ground and urgent evacuations were conducted as a major wildfire spread to Solano County. Later in the day, county authorities ordered evacuations for large parts of the city of Vacaville as well as for certain areas of Fairfield. While no fatalities or injuries had occurred at the time of reporting, CalFire issued a statement warning areas residents of an “immediate threat to life and property” while urging evacuations.

Funding Approved by California State for Solano County Highway Construction

On Wednesday, August 12, 2020, the California Transportation Commission (CTC) approved 66.1 billion dollars of funds for the second phase of a large-scale highway construction project in Solano County. This phase is the second in a seven-part plan to improve highways across the county and will focus on the I-80/Route 12/I-680 interchange.

Two People Injured in Fairfield Car Crash

On Sunday, July 12, 2020, two people were hurt during a Fairfield car crash. According to Dave Harvey, a spokesperson from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident happened in the late evening and involved two vehicles. One of the injured parties reportedly suffered major trauma, and both were hospitalized after the crash. The cause of this accident is currently being investigated.

Fairfield CHP Increasing Enforcement Over Holiday Weekend

Fairfield area California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that they would be participating in a state-wide effort to curb auto accidents over the Holiday weekend between Friday, July 3, and Sunday, July 5, 2020. As injury-causing accidents tend to happen more often on holiday weekends, CHP is aiming to combat this trend by adding extra patrols to key roadway areas in Solano County.

Fairfield Teen Hurt in Hit-and-Run Receives Get-Well Caravan

On Thursday, June 25, 2020, a group of friends organized a get-well caravan for a 14-year-old girl who was seriously hurt during a local hit-and-run accident. The accident occurred a few days earlier on Monday, June 22, and left the teenager in crutches. The Fairfield Police Department (FPD) is reportedly still actively looking for the missing vehicle and driver. Additionally, medical officials indicated that the girl was expected to fully recover from her injuries.
