Pedestrian Killed Near Roseville Road in North Highlands Train Collision

A woman was struck and killed in a North Highlands train collision on January 8. A spokesperson for the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said the accident happened around the intersection of Roseville and Walerga roads shortly after 5:00 p.m. The woman was not killed on a crossing, according to a representative of the Union Pacific Railroad. 

Injuries Occur in Train Collision With a Pedestrian in Midtown

A train collision with a pedestrian occurred in Sacramento on December 11 in Midtown, causing injuries. The accident happened at the 20th Street intersection with Capitol Avenue, according to the Sacramento Police Department. The pedestrian in question was transported to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. An investigation is being conducted to determine what happened to cause the accident.

Pedestrian Killed in North Highlands Train Accident Near Walerga Road

A pedestrian was killed in a North Highlands train accident near an overpass on November 29. According to a Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District spokesman, the crash occurred near the Walerga Road intersection with Roseville Road. The pedestrian was confirmed as deceased and was identified as male. However, no additional details have been made available to the public. 

Pedestrian on Bicycle Struck and Killed by Freight Train at P Street

A freight train passing through the downtown area of Sacramento on August 7 struck and killed a pedestrian. The accident happened near the railroad crossing at P Street at about 3:15 p.m., as reported by the California Office of Emergency Services. The individual was reportedly between 40 and 50 years of age and was riding a bicycle when the collision occurred. 

Union Pacific Train Crash Kills Pedestrian Near Florin Road

A pedestrian died in the Florin area of Sacramento on June 9 after being involved in a Union Pacific train crash. The collision happened at the intersection of Florin Road and McComber Street around 8:30 a.m., according to a spokesperson for the Union Pacific Railroad. No additional information was released. Authorities are conducting an investigation to determine how the fatality accident occurred. The name of the deceased pedestrian pends notification of the family by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

Pedestrian Killed Near Davis in Amtrak Train Crash

On July 11, a pedestrian was killed near Davis in an Amtrak train crash. The accident occurred at about 10:35 a.m. as the train went to Sacramento from San Jose. None of the people in the train crew or passengers were injured. An investigation is underway, including by Amtrak and law enforcement, to determine the cause of the fatality.

Pedestrian Injured in Midtown in Freight Train Collision

A Sacramento pedestrian suffered injuries on June 4 when he was struck by a freight train. The accident happened around 2:00 p.m. in the Midtown area near H and 20th streets, according to the Sacramento Police Department. A Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway (BNSF) was involved, which is a group of 390 rail lines that transport freight around the United States. 

Train Near Roseville Road Causes Fatal Pedestrian Accident

A Union Pacific train caused a fatal pedestrian accident in Sacramento on May 28. The accident happened around noon along the tracks near Roseville Road between the overpass for Winters Street and Marconi Avenue. A spokesperson for Union Pacific said the accident did not involve a railroad crossing and was close to the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex. 

Fatality and Injuries Occur in Amtrak Train Collision at East Tabor Avenue

An Amtrak train collision occurred with a motor vehicle in Fairfield on April 26, resulting in one fatality and injuries. The accident happened at about 8:39 a.m. at the East Tabor and Railroad Avenues crossing. Authorities with the Fairfield Fire Department reported that the vehicle that was struck by the train initially hit another car, resulting in major damage. 

Accident at Folsom Boulevard Train Crossing Injures Pickup Driver

A train crash in Rancho Cordova recently caused injuries to a pickup driver when the vehicle collided with it on the tracks. The collision occurred around 12:50 p.m. at the Folsom Boulevard crossing at Mather Field Road and involved a Ford F-150 pickup and train operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District. The pickup was cut in half by the impact as it was pinned up against a pole.
