Vacaville Car Crash Shuts Down City Intersection

On Friday, January 10, 2020, a Vacaville car crash shut down a major city intersection and left at least two people with serious injuries. The collision happened at night in central Vacaville and involved multiple vehicles. Responders reported that none of the injuries sustained during the accident appeared to be life-threatening. Additionally, this collision is being investigated by the Vacaville Police Department (VPD).

Man Injured in Vacaville Car Crash

One person suffered serious injuries after he was involved in a car crash in Vacaville on Thursday, January 9, 2020. Vacaville Police Department (VPD) reported that the collision involved only one car and happened in the morning on the eastern side of town. The injured man was hospitalized but is expected to survive his injuries. VPD has indicated that they are still investigating the crash.

Vacaville To Enhance DUI Enforcement 

The Vacaville City Council accepted a grant providing funds to local police in order to enhance enforcement for DUI and distracted driving. The $93,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety will allow the Vacaville Police Department (VPD) to improve on a variety of enforcement programs in order to reduce the number of dangerously impaired and distracted drivers on local roads. The grant was accepted during a city council meeting on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, and the funds will reportedly be utilized immediately and throughout 2020.
