October 2019 Community Events in Vacaville

As the hot weather begins to cool off and the days get shorter, Vacaville is saying goodbye to the summer months. However, just because the summer is over doesn’t mean that there aren’t plenty of great Vacaville community events happening around town. The following blog contains information about just a few of the many exciting events taking place in Vacaville in the near future, and residents looking for something to do may want to take a look.

Vacaville Kid Fest

When: Saturday, October 19, at 10:00 a.m.

Where: Andrews Park

Families in Vacaville can get excited for the annual Vacaville Kid Fest taking place downtown. The event is hosted by the Vacaville Fire and Police Departments as well as other Solano County organizations. Kids will be able to participate in several events as well as interact with ambulance and fire engine displays. In addition to a variety of activities and informational booths hosted throughout the day, the event will also feature live animals, food vendors, demonstrations, and performances from local artists.

Solano County Home and Garden Festival

When: Saturday and Sunday, October 19 and 20, at 10:00 a.m.

Where: Nut Tree Family Park

Those interested in making some home improvements during the fall season are invited to come to the Solano County Home and Garden Fall Festival. The festival will feature a variety of vendors selling products to help you get your home ready for the seasons to come as well as local craft makers with handmade gifts and items. The Festival will also feature several fun events, including a Scarecrow contest and a Halloween pet parade. Kids are invited to come enjoy a bounce house, corn bath, and other family-friendly activities.

Downtown Halloween Stroll

Where: Main Street Near Merchant Street

When: Thursday, October 31, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Families looking for a fun, safe way to enjoy the holiday are invited to bring their kids and costumes downtown for an evening of Halloween spirit. Over 30 downtown businesses will be continuing the city’s 20-year-old tradition by decorating, wearing costumes, and handing out candy to young trick-or-treaters. The first 1,000 families to arrive at Town Square will be given a free, reusable bag for holding treats. The stroll will also feature live music and a performance from the Young Artists Conservatory of Music. The event is sponsored by the City of Vacaville, the Vacaville Police Department, and Downtown Vacaville BID.
