Injuries Reported in Vacaville Rollover Crash

A Vacaville rollover crash left at least one person with injuries on Friday, April 17, 2020. The accident reportedly happened on a local highway on the eastern side of town and involved two vehicles. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers have indicated that one of the involved drivers has been placed under arrest on charges related to driving under the influence of alcohol.

Crash Details

This accident happened at about 6:11 p.m on the eastbound side of Highway Interstate 80 near the Leisure Town Road on-ramp. While specific details about what led up to the crash have not been reported, officers indicated that one of the involved vehicles overturned as a result of the initial impact.

After the crash occurred and CHP received notification, an emergency team was sent to the collision location. Responders reaching the crash scene discovered that at least one individual was injured. Whether or not this individual received hospital care has not been specified, however, the injured party was reportedly expected to recover from their trauma.

Investigation

The on-ramp to Leisure Town Road was temporarily shut off to traffic while response and initial investigations of the scene were underway. So far, police have only mentioned DUI as a suspected factor. Many collisions like this one can be caused by multiple factors and often include things unrelated to drivers like defective car parts or dangerous roads. The collision investigation is reportedly still ongoing.

Rollover Collisions

When vehicles overturn, there is a high probability that occupants will suffer serious injuries. Government data reveals that rollovers have a significantly higher fatality rate than most other types of crashes and frequently result in catastrophic injuries. These accidents are often serious because car roofs aren’t able to maintain integrity after sustaining an impact. If the roof is not strong enough, it can cave in, leaving people in the car with trauma that could have been avoided otherwise. For this reason, vehicle manufacturers can frequently be considered at-fault parties in rollover accidents.

Contacting an Attorney

After suffering injuries during a car accident, people can be left in a hard situation. Firstly, being injured is physically painful and can have a major effect on your mental health. On top of this, the process of recovery can require extensive medical care. This care can be expensive and many people worry about what they will be able to do if they can’t afford the care they need. This is an especially difficult problem if your injury has affected your ability to perform your job.

In order to make sure that you can recover both personally and financially after being in a car crash, an important step to take is reaching out to a Vacaville personal injury lawyer. A good attorney can give you the advice you need to begin the process of holding at-fault parties responsible for the damages they’ve caused.
