Deadly Motorcycle Accident in Paradise

One woman sadly passed away after being injured during a motorcycle accident in Paradise on Sunday, August 9, 2020. The Paradise Police Department (PPD) reported that the accident happened in the very early morning and only involved one vehicle. The decedent has since been identified by local authorities as a 22-year-old woman and resident of Chico. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.

Paradise Man Located After Deadly Accident

During the morning of Thursday, May 28, 2020, the body and motorcycle of a missing Paradise man were found in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Butte County. Officials of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) had not yet confirmed the identity of the man as of Thursday evening but reported that they suspect it to be Michael Endres, a 54-year-old resident of Paradise. Endres went missing on Monday, May 24, 2020, after heading out for a motorcycle ride to the nearby community of Inskip.

Paradise Car Accident Kills One

On Thursday, March 12, 2020, one person tragically lost their life during a car accident in Paradise. The Butte County Coroner’s Office has identified the decedent as 56-year-old Robert Sharp. According to officials, two other people were hospitalized after the crash. Reportedly, the person’s injuries were not expected to be life-threatening.

According to reports from state authorities, the Camp Fire, which consumed Paradise, Magalia, and other nearby areas, has become the deadliest wildfire in the history of California. Officials reports state that 42 people have officially been declared deceased so far. However, authorities are still searching areas the wildfire has affected injured and deceased individuals. Reportedly, over 160 searches and rescue staff are assisting in the attempt to find missing persons. Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea said to reporters that county and state agencies are trying to work quickly to locate and identify those who lost their lives, saying “I know the toll it takes on loved ones.” My sincere sympathy is with the many people who’ve tragically lost friends, family, and community members due to this tragedy.
