Common Wrongful Death Questions
Common Wrongful Death Questions

I’m Ed Smith, a Fairfield wrongful death lawyer. Cases of wrongful death are considered civil law cases covered under personal injury. This means that dependents and family members who relied on the deceased individual for emotional or financial support can seek compensation for their losses if the death was caused by a negligent party. However, wrongful death isn’t always easy to understand, and those who have lost a loved one in a sudden accident usually have a lot of questions. The below blog contains helpful answers to some of the issues that are most commonly asked about wrongful death cases.

Understanding a Wrongful Death Case
Understanding a Wrongful Death Case

I’m Ed Smith, a Fairfield wrongful death lawyer. When a member of your family or somebody that you depend on loses their life, it can be hard to think about much other than their absence. The sudden loss of a trusted father, mother, spouse, child, or other loved one is often emotionally devastating, and grieving can take up a lot of time. However, grief isn’t the only thing that those who have lost a loved one need to worry about. In many cases, losing someone you care about also comes with a significant financial burden. Due to factors like medical bills, loss of an income earner in the family, and today’s high costs for funeral and burial ceremonies, financial stress can make the grieving process even more difficult. However, if the death was caused by a negligent party, families, and dependents can be compensated for these losses. These are referred to as “wrongful death” cases.

Teen Driving Linked to Fatal Summer Accidents

Teen Driving Linked to Fatal Summer Accidents

I’m Ed Smith, a Fairfield wrongful death lawyer. For teenagers, summer is an exciting time. A break from school and new driver’s licenses can give teens a sense of freedom. However, authorities have noted that over the summer, the rate of fatal crashes in the United States rises significantly. These accidents have been shown to frequently involve teen drivers, and experts say that these months are some of the year’s most dangerous days for driving. Area residents should know that Fairfield and Solano County are no exception. Locally, authorities have seen a high number of teen accident fatalities over this time period in previous years.
