Three Fatalities Reported in Highway 65 Major Traffic Crash 

A major traffic crash in Placer County on July 30 caused three deaths. The collision occurred along Highway 65 during the evening hours. The way it occurred, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), was that a woman in a Toyota Camry driving south along the road crossed over a double yellow line and crashed into a Kia Sorrento and a Subaru Forester that were going south. 

Fatal Crash Involving Solo Vehicle Reported on Foresthill Road

A single-vehicle fatal crash occurred in Foresthill northeast of Auburn on June 16 in Foresthill, when the driver struck a tree. The accident took place on Foresthill Road between Red Rock and Happy Pines roads around 12:26 p.m. Police with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded. Upon arrival, they discovered the driver of the vehicle was unconscious in a vehicle on the right-hand side of the roadway. 

Westbound I-80 Fatality Reported in Single-Vehicle Accident

A single-vehicle accident took place in Weimer near Auburn on April 13, killing a Colfax man, age 19. The collision happened along Interstate 80 westbound at the intersection with West Paoli Lane around 9:00 p.m. The preliminary investigation into the accident by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) determined the Hyundai the man was driving suddenly exited the highway, striking several trees and overturning, ending up on its roof. 

Accident Near Auburn Kills Motorcycle Rider

A traffic fatality was reported near Auburn on August 21 when a motorcyclist was involved in a collision. The accident happened near Combie and Cascade Crossing roads west of Lake of the Pines, which is a gated residential area, around 5:36 p.m. Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the county coroner was called to the scene to declare the rider deceased. 

Accident on Highway 193 Kills Two Teenagers in Placer County

A fatality accident involving two teenagers from Placer County occurred on July 21 in what California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers believe was related to speed. The collision happened in the evening hours when the Mini Cooper the teens were in struck a tree and caught fire after crashing near Dutch Court, west of Auburn. The older teen driving the Mini was from Lincoln, and the younger was from Loomis. Both died in the collision. 

Accident on Auburn Folsom Road Claims Life of Driver

A single-vehicle accident resulted in the death of the driver in Auburn recently. The accident report issued by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) stated that the crash occurred at about 10:50 p.m. along Auburn Folsom Road near Indian Hill Road. Upon arrival, they discovered that an Atwater man, age 31, had died in the accident after crashing into a tree in his Ford F-450 pickup. 

Vehicle Crosses Centerline on Foresthill Road Head-On Crash

A motorcyclist fatality was reported in Auburn on April 3 when a vehicle crossed the centerline and struck the rider in a head-on crash. The accident happened along Foresthill Road near Drivers Flat Road at about 3:30 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Officers found the driver of a Hyundai Sonata who caused the collision waiting at the accident scene. He was identified as a Sacramento resident.

According to a report from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), on the afternoon of Sunday, September 26, 2021, one man was killed, and two other people suffered injuries when a two-vehicle collision occurred in Nevada County, California.

On Friday, July 30, 2021, one person was killed, and at least one other sustained injuries in a three-vehicle crash in Auburn, per a report from the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The collision happened on Bell Road east of New Airport.

Motorcycle Collision in Cisco Grove Causes Fatal Trauma

On Sunday, November 22, 2020, one person tragically passed away following a motorcycle collision in Cisco Grove. At the time of reporting, Placer County Sheriff’s Office officials were still withholding the identity of the decedent. According to information from California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash involved both a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle and did not cause any other injuries. The cause of this incident remains under investigation.
