One Dead Following Car Accident in Placer County

On Sunday, July 26, 2020, one person tragically lost her life as the result of a car accident in Placer County. The decedent was identified the following day by authorities of the Placer County Sheriff’s Department as a 22-year-old woman from Sacramento. The crash involved a single passenger vehicle and, in addition to the decedent, left one other person with major injuries.

Former Auburn Mayor Killed in Airplane Crash

An airplane crash on April 18 just northwest of the Auburn Municipal Airport claimed the life of the former mayor who recently resigned his post and injured another person onboard. The pilot of the plane was identified as Dr. Bill Kirby, age 72, who resigned on Monday after making a political comment. A spokesman for the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said that the fatal accident happened a few minutes after 11:00 in the morning. 

Auburn Plane Crash Kills Father and Son

Tragedy struck on Friday, January 24, 2020, when a father and son lost their lives during an Auburn plane crash. The decedents were identified by officials of Placer County as Anthony Lawrence Wright Sr. and Jr., ages 80 and 55, respectively. The pair were both reportedly residents of the community of Meadow Vista. In addition to the decedents, one more person suffered injuries during the incident. Woman Dies in Auburn Car Accident

California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that a woman lost her life in an Auburn car accident that took place during the morning on Friday, January 10, 2020. Police said that the accident involved two passenger vehicles and happened on a local highway north of the city in the area of Elders Corner. In addition to the decedent, one more person suffered injuries during the incident. The accident is under investigation by officials.

One Killed in Auburn Area Crash

According to the Auburn California Highway Patrol (CHP), a semi-truck collision that took place in Placer County left one person with fatal trauma. The Placer County Sheriff’s Department has not yet identified the decedent. According to CHP, the collision took place a few miles west of Auburn on Highway 65 near the intersection of Nelson Lane.

Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash In Auburn

On Friday, December 6, 2019, one person was fatally injured during a three-vehicle crash in Auburn. In addition to the decedent, two other people suffered injuries requiring hospital care. According to reports, one of these individuals was seriously hurt. Placer County officials have not yet reported the identity of the fatally injured woman and the accident remains under California Highway Patrol (CHP) investigation.

Auburn Man Identified Following Fatal Placer Collision

On Thursday, December 5, 2019, officials of the Placer County Sheriff’s Office released the identity of an Auburn man who sadly passed away as the result of a recent area car accident. The man was identified as 21-year-old Tyler William Burk. The accident took place a day earlier and involved three vehicles. According to reports, one other individual, identified as a 73-year-old man from Grass Valley, was also injured during the crash. A GoFundMe page has been created to help Tyler Burk’s family with his final resting arrangements.

Collision Near Auburn Kills One

On Wednesday, December 4, 2019, a collision near Auburn left one individual with fatal injuries. California Highway Patrol (CHP) has stated that the accident happened in the early afternoon and involved multiple vehicles. In addition to the decedent, two other people suffered major and minor injuries, respectively. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office is currently withholding the identity of the decedent pending his family’s notification. Additionally, a crash investigation is ongoing and being conducted by CHP.

Head-On Auburn Accident Causes Fatal Injury

On Tuesday, October 22, 2019, a head-on Auburn accident left one person with injuries that sadly cost them their life. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials stated that the accident happened in the early morning and took place on a local roadway. The collision reportedly involved two vehicles, each occupied by a single individual. So far, the identity of the fatally injured motorist has not been reported as officials are in the process of notifying his family. The condition of the other driver is currently unknown.

Fatal Auburn Hit-and-Run Kills One, Injures Two

Local authorities reported that a fatal Auburn hit-and-run took place on Wednesday, October 17, 2019. Auburn Police Department (APD) officers stated that the crash happened in the early morning and injured three people. One of the injured people tragically passed away due to their trauma. The second individual suffered minor injuries while the third was transported to a hospital for major trauma but is expected to recover. The decedent has been identified as Ryan Bonari, an Auburn resident and father. Police say that they arrested the suspected hit-and-run driver late Wednesday night.
