What to Do After a Hit-and-Run Accident
Hit-and-run collisions can leave injured people facing additional challenges when the responsible driver cannot immediately be identified. When possible, witnesses should document details such as the vehicle’s make, model, color, license plate, direction of travel, and any visible damage.
Photos, surveillance footage, vehicle debris, and witness statements may also provide important evidence that can help authorities identify a fleeing vehicle.

Why Hiring a Hit-and-Run Accident Attorney Can Help
A person injured in a hit-and-run collision may still have options for recovering compensation even when the other driver has not been identified. Depending on the circumstances and available insurance coverage, an uninsured motorist claim may provide compensation for medical expenses, lost income, and other accident-related losses.
An experienced personal injury attorney can investigate the collision, search for additional evidence, evaluate available insurance coverage, and help an injured person navigate the claims process.
