Investigators remained at the scene as they worked to determine what happened and whether a vehicle struck the victim before leaving the area.

Pedestrian Safety on Santa Rosa Roads
Pedestrians and bicyclists are particularly vulnerable when involved in collisions because they have little physical protection from the force of an impact. Drivers should remain attentive near intersections, shoulders, crosswalks, and areas where pedestrians or cyclists may be traveling.
Motorists involved in a collision are also required to remain at the scene and follow applicable reporting and emergency-assistance requirements.

Why Hiring a Hit-and-Run Accident Attorney Can Help
A suspected hit-and-run can leave a victim’s family with significant questions, particularly when the responsible driver has not been identified. An independent investigation may help preserve surveillance footage, locate witnesses, review physical evidence, and identify potential sources of insurance coverage.
A wrongful death attorney can also help surviving family members understand their legal options and determine whether compensation may be available through applicable insurance coverage or a claim against a responsible party if one is later identified.
