Sharing the Road With Tractor-Trailers
Large commercial trucks can pose significant risks during a collision because of their weight and size compared with passenger vehicles. Motorists traveling on two-lane roads should remain attentive to opposing traffic, maintain safe speeds, and allow additional space around tractor-trailers.
Commercial truck drivers must also account for their vehicles’ longer stopping distances, larger turning areas, and limited visibility when operating on rural and local roads.
