One Killed in Fresno County DUI Crash

One person was killed, and three others were injured in a Fresno County DUI crash on the afternoon of July 29, 2019. The car accident occurred shortly after 12:40 p.m. along Highway 180 and Rio Vista Avenue, just west of Minkler. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV veered over the center median and collided head-on with a 2011 Ford Explorer. The Chevrolet driver, a 40-year-old Selma man, was taken to the hospital where he was booked on charges of driving under the influence. Three of the four passengers in the Ford were transported via air ambulance to the hospital for treatment of major injuries. Sadly, the fourth passenger succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The decedent has been identified by officials as 47-year-old Rosario Montalvo of Fresno. I would like to send my healing thoughts and prayers to the family of Ms. Montalvo during this difficult time.

Placerville Area Crash Fatally Injures Local Man

Local authorities reported that one person lost his life in a car accident that took place in the Placerville area recently. The decedent was identified by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office as a 60-year-old resident of the small community of Somerset. The man’s full identity will reportedly not be released until his family is properly notified. According to the Placerville area California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident took place on a rural roadway and only involved one individual. My sympathy is with the loved ones of the decedent who are grieving over the loss of their family member and friend.

Vacaville Motorcyclist Identified

On Friday, July 26, Solano County officials released the identity of a Vacaville resident who was fatally injured during a local motorcycle accident. The man was identified as 57-year-old Albert Martin Daniels. Police say that the man was reported missing a week earlier and eventually found off of the side of a highway in Fairfield. I would like to offer my condolences to Mr. Daniel’s family after they have endured such a tragic event.

Shasta Area Accident Kills One

California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that a fatal accident took place near Shasta Lake on Tuesday, July 23, 2019. The accident reportedly left one person with fatal injuries and did not involve any other individuals. The fatally injured driver’s identity has not yet been released by officials of the Shasta County Police Department pending notification of his or her family. My sincere condolences are sent to those suffering grief after losing their loved one in this accident.

Pedestrian Killed in Fair Oaks Accident

A pedestrian killed in a Fair Oaks accident was walking in the bike lane at the intersection of Winding Way and Johnson Drive at about 9:30 p.m. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that a female motorist driving a gray SUV was heading westbound on the roadway when she veered into the bike lane, hitting the male pedestrian. Due to his injuries, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. I would like to take this opportunity to offer my condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

One Killed in Southeast Fresno Car Accident

One person was killed, and two others were critically injured in a southeast Fresno car accident on the night of July 20, 2019. The incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Kings Canyon Road. A preliminary report by the Fresno Police Department suggested two parties were driving together southbound along Maple Road. The driver had a green light and was proceeding through the intersection. Authorities say another motorist ran a red light and crashed into the vehicle carrying the party of two. Sadly, the driver of the car with the green light passed away at the scene, and his passenger was transported to the hospital for treatment of critical injuries. Officials have identified the decedent as 40-year-old Shawn Milton. Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of Mr. Milton during this difficult time.

Red Bluff Man Identified After Oroville Accident

On Wednesday, July 17, 2019, officials of the Butte County Sheriff’s Department released the identity of a man who tragically lost his life six days earlier in a local car accident. The man was identified as James Dunn II, a 45-year-old resident of Red Bluff. The crash took place near the city of Oroville and involved three vehicles, including a commercial tree-trimming truck. Officers are still investigating the accident in order to determine what factors were involved. I’d like to extend condolences to Mr. Dunn’s family and friends after they have endured such a tragic loss.

Swimming Pool Light Causes Death of Citrus Heights Child

A young girl died in Citrus Heights on July 14 when she was reportedly electrocuted by a malfunctioning light in a swimming pool. The Citrus Heights Police Department reported that the accident happened in a residential neighborhood close to Interstate 80 and Antelope Road. The child, age 9, was pronounced dead at a hospital after attempts to save her using CPR by rescue personnel with the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Crew and other adults. Police reported that the light was being repaired at the time the death happened. I would like to extend my sympathy and prayers to the family and friends of the child.

Modesto Man Killed in Manteca Car Accident

A Modesto man was killed in a Manteca car accident on the afternoon of July 12, 2019. The crash occurred shortly after 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Dupont Circle and Spreckels Avenue in Manteca. A preliminary report by the Manteca Police Department suggested that the collision involved multiple vehicles, including a 2012 Toyota Corolla and a 1974 Chevrolet pickup truck. One of the drivers, identified as a Modesto man, was reportedly pinned inside his car and was described to be unresponsive. Crews from the Manteca Fire Department were called to the scene to extricate the man from the vehicle. Sadly, he was pronounced deceased at the scene by first responders. Officials have identified the decedent as 28-year-old Joshua Timby of Modesto. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Mr. Timby during this difficult time.

Oceano Dunes Accident Costs Sacramento Teen His Life

A Sacramento teen lost his life on July 13 at Oceano Dunes as he followed another person on a vehicle over a 30-foot tall sand dune and was thrown from his motorcycle. The 18-year-old was the sixth fatality at the popular off-road recreation site this year. Following a meeting by the Coastal Commission, it was decided that restricting the use of off-road vehicles at the site would be tabled and taken up next year sometime before summer. It was reported that hundreds of people turned out for the Oceano Dunes meeting to indicate their support for the popular outdoor sport. I want to extend my heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of this young man for their tragic loss.
