Bicyclist Injured in Tahoe Crash

California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers reported that one person suffered severe injuries after an auto accident that took place along Lake Tahoe on Tuesday, June 18, 2019. Police stated that the accident involved a bicyclist and a passenger vehicle and took place during the morning on Lake Tahoe’s northwest shore. While reports initially indicated that the cyclist suffered fatal trauma during the accident, CHP later confirmed that the injured party did survive the crash. The injured cyclist has not been identified by authorities, and updates on their condition remain unavailable. CHP has stated that the collision remains under investigation.

Avalanche Causes South Tahoe Car Accident

On Sunday, April 7, 2019, an avalanche caused a head-on car accident near South Lake Tahoe. The crash reportedly left a 72-year-old man with injuries that required treatment at a local hospital. Initial reports indicated that it was not clear how many passengers had been aboard the small plane. However, a few hours after the crash it was confirmed that three male passengers had been found on board. According to reports, two of the passengers of the plane lost their lives due to serious injuries sustained in the crash and the third was left with severe trauma. The fatally injured men have since been identified as Kenneth Whittall-Scherfee, a 60-year-old Carmichael resident, and Peter C. Jackson, a 55-year-old resident of West Hollywood.
