Pedestrian Identified Following Fatal Oroville Crash

On Tuesday, February 5, 2019, Butte County officials released the identity of a man who lost his life after he was involved in a car accident south of Oroville. The man was identified as Joshua Washburn, a 46-year-old resident of the nearby community of Gridley. The accident took place on Saturday, February 2, 2019. Washburn had been a pedestrian walking across the highway at a location near the border of Sutter and Butte Counties. California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that they have investigators looking into this accident to determine the factors which may have caused the collision. My sympathy is with Mr. Washburn’s loved ones after this tragic incident.

Police from Oroville area California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that a fatal accident happened on a local highway on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Police say that the crash happened south of Oroville and left at least two individuals with injuries that cost them their lives. The identities of the fatally injured persons have not been reported by officials. CHP says that their investigators are still looking into possible causes of this accident. The Butte County Sheriff’s Office identified the woman shortly after the wreck took place. She was identified as Crystal Haight, A 20-year-old from Marysville. Additionally, three other people were critically injured during the crash. Reports have stated that their conditions remain critical. Good Samaritan Killed in Oroville Hit-and-Run

Police reported that a major vehicle accident took place in the Oroville area during the night of Thursday, January 17, 2019. Officers from California Highway Patrol (CHP) released a report indicating that one person lost their life while attempting to help out at the scene of a prior collision. The fatally injured man has not yet been identified by Glenn County authorities as they are still in the process of notifying members of his family. Reports from the Yuba-Sutter California Highway Patrol (CHP) state that a fatal vehicle accident took place south of Yuba City on Monday, December 17, 2018. The accident involved two passenger vehicles and reportedly left a 55-year-old man from Berry Creek with severe injuries that eventually cost him his life. The Berry Creek man has not yet been identified by authorities of the Sutter County Sheriff’s Department pending his family’s notification. The collision also left a 37-year-old woman from Oroville with moderate injuries. Authorities say that they are still looking into what may have caused this fatal accident to take place.

Oroville Collision Kills One — California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that a serious auto accident happened in Oroville on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. The accident reportedly caused one man to suffer injuries that cost him his life. Officers say that the crash only involved one vehicle and did not harm any other individuals. Officials of Butte County have only identified the fatally injured driver as a 21-year-old male. The man’s identity will be released after his family is properly notified by authorities of the Butte County Sheriff’s Office. An investigation into the accident is still underway and is being conducted by CHP. My condolences are sent out to those who are currently grieving over the loss of their friend and family member.

Fatal Oroville Area Highway Collision- According to officers of California Highway Patrol (CHP), a serious car accident took place near Oroville on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. Reports stated that the collision involved four vehicles altogether and left three people with serious injuries. Tragically, one of the injured individuals suffered fatal trauma. The fatally injured man has so far only been identified as a 70-year-old resident of North Highlands. County authorities say that the man’s identity will be released following his family’s notification.
