Pedestrian Seriously Injured on Stockton Boulevard 

A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a motor vehicle on November 26 along Stockton Boulevard a little after 11:00 p.m. The accident happened in the vicinity of Gerber Road. Although the nature of the injuries are unknown at this time, the pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with what were described as major trauma. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) was at the site, and an investigation is underway. It is unclear whether the motorist remained at the scene or whether drugs or alcohol were involved. 

Pedestrian Hit and Run Accident in Sacramento

A pedestrian hit and run accident occurred at the southeast corner of Broadway and 33rd Street near the Pacific Charter Institute on October 28. The Sacramento Police and rescue operations of the Sacramento Fire Department found the as yet unknown pedestrian lying on the pavement at this location. According to witnesses, the pedestrian hit and run accident involved a red PT Cruiser. The driver fled the scene heading east on Broadway toward Martin Luther King Boulevard without stopping. The pedestrian was awake at the scene and able to converse with responders. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation of what appeared to be moderate injuries upon initial evaluation. An active investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time. 

Sacramento Crosswalk Pedestrian Injury 

A pedestrian injury occurred during the early hours of September 18 in Sacramento after a woman was struck by a motor vehicle. The accident occurred at the intersection of 6th and W streets near Southside Park shortly after 1:00 in the morning. The Sacramento Police Department and fire department arrived at the scene to discover a woman in the roadway with an injury to her head that was bleeding. However, the woman was awake and alert as well as talking.

Yolo County Bus Involved in Sacramento Pedestrian Accident

A collision between a Yolo County Transportation District bus with a person walking in Sacramento on September 11 resulted in a pedestrian injury accident. The accident happened near L and 5th streets at about 11:20 a.m., according to the Sacramento Police Department. The injured pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital for additional evaluation and treatment of their injuries. The Yolo bus that was involved in the accident had a sign up in the front that indicated it was being used as a training vehicle. At this time, no reason has been given as to why the pedestrian accident occurred. The case is currently under investigation. 

Deadly Crash Kills Pedestrian in Arden Arcade

A deadly crash claimed the life of a pedestrian in Sacramento on August 18. The accident occurred around 9:20 in the evening along northbound Watt Avenue near Whitney Avenue in the area of Arden Arcade, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) report. Emergency responders with the Sacramento Fire Department attempted to resuscitate the male pedestrian. However, it was to no avail. The driver was reported as cooperating with police in the investigation. Initially, it was alleged that alcohol may have been a contributing factor to the deadly crash; however, this was subsequently ruled out. 

Pedestrian Killed in West Sacramento Accident

A pedestrian killed in West Sacramento was hit by a vehicle traveling the crossroads of Jefferson and Stone boulevards on July 6. The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The accident occurred at 8:25 in the evening, according to West Sacramento Police. As of this report, authorities have not identified the woman who died. The police have said that alcohol or drugs do not appear to be involved in the crash. I would like to offer my condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Deadly Pedestrian Accident in South Sacramento

A deadly pedestrian accident occurred in Sacramento on March 19 shortly after 5:00 a.m. when an adult female was struck by a white van at Mack Road and Stockton Boulevard. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the accident first and notified local police. The accident happened when the driver of the van was moving southbound on Stockton Boulevard and struck the woman, who was reportedly in the roadway. I would like to offer my sympathy and prayers to the family and friends of the deceased woman in their time of loss and sorrow.

Head Injuries in a Sacramento Accident

On February 26, a pedestrian in Sacramento suffered head injuries after being struck by a motor vehicle at Elk Grove Florin Road and Vintage Park Drive. The accident happened at approximately 6:40 in the evening when a white Toyota Camry was reported as having struck the pedestrian, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The vehicle sped off after the collision without stopping and offering aid. The report goes on to say that the pedestrian was transported to Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center for treatment and further evaluation. The accident is under investigation by the CHP to determine how it happened.

Disabled Pedestrian Accident in Sacramento

A disabled pedestrian accident occurred on Arden Way in North Sacramento in the early morning of January 26. The collision occurred in front of the Emerald Bay Apartments at about 5:40 a.m. when a vehicle struck a woman who was in a wheelchair. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), emergency personnel with Sac Fire were called to the scene, and it was determined that the woman needed attention at a hospital. An ambulance was summoned to transport her. No information has been released on how the disabled pedestrian accident occurred or whether the driver was being charged.
