Accident on Watt Avenue On-Ramp Injures Pedestrian

A pedestrian injury accident occurred in Sacramento on April 24 when a woman was struck by a driver in a Toyota RAV4. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the collision occurred on the southbound on-ramp at Watt Avenue that connects with Highway 50 westbound at around 12:45 in the morning. The female pedestrian was seriously injured in the collision. Emergency responders transported the woman to a hospital for further treatment and evaluation. The on-ramp leading to Highway 50 westbound was shut down as authorities investigated how the collision occurred.

Man Severely Injured by Pizza Delivery Driver

A nighttime walk to his parent’s house resulted in several life-altering injuries for Zachary Spencer when he was struck by a pizza delivery driver. The driver, Michael Hornaday, tried to brake to avoid the collision but was not able to stop before hitting Spencer with his car, immediately causing injury.

Intersection Pedestrian Accident at Lindley and Norwood Avenues

An April 14 pedestrian accident in Sacramento left one man with severe injuries. The accident happened shortly after 5:00 p.m. at Norwood Avenue near where it intersects with Lindley Avenue, according to the report by the Sacramento Police Department

Pedestrian Injured in Sacramento Hit and Run

On January 12, 2020, a hit and run injury to a pedestrian occurred in Sacramento along Florin Road in a Walmart parking lot. The incident was reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) as happening at 11:23 in the morning between a pedestrian and an unknown driver who fled the scene. Emergency responders with the Sacramento Fire Department arrived at the accident site to assess the pedestrian’s injuries. The walker was then transported to Kaiser North Medical Center for a knee injury. The CHP is investigating the accident to locate the driver who left the scene without offering aid or exchanging information. 

Fleeing Driver Injures Pedestrian in Sacramento

A pedestrian injury in a midtown Sacramento accident occurred on December 31, 2019, in the evening hours. Officers with the Sacramento Police Department and emergency responders were called to the scene at about 10:35 p.m. at 19th and Q streets. When emergency responders with the Sacramento Fire Department arrived, they discovered a pedestrian lying in the road. He was conscious and spoke to police officers before being transported to a nearby hospital. The accident report said that the vehicle that struck the pedestrian pinned his leg to the pavement. The driver was told to move his vehicle to free the injured pedestrian. Then the driver fled from the accident scene. The incident is under investigation by the Sacramento Police to determine how the accident occurred. 

Pedestrian Injury in Sacramento Linked to Hit and Run Driver

A pedestrian injury occurred in Sacramento on December 21 on the 1800 block of N Street. Officers with the Sacramento Police Department as well as Sac Fire arrived at the location following a report of an injured pedestrian at around 12:20 in the morning. When officers arrived, they discovered an unresponsive but conscious person lying on the sidewalk. That individual was transported to a nearby hospital with undescribed injuries. Police in the case are seeking a black-colored SUV with a broken windshield that may have caused the pedestrian injury. Officers with the Sacramento Police are investigating the accident to determine how it occurred.

A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a motor vehicle on November 26 along Stockton Boulevard a little after 11:00 p.m. The accident happened in the vicinity of Gerber Road. Although the nature of the injuries are unknown at this time, the pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with what were described as major trauma. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) was at the site, and an investigation is underway. It is unclear whether the motorist remained at the scene or whether drugs or alcohol were involved. 

Pedestrian Hit and Run Accident in Sacramento

A pedestrian hit and run accident occurred at the southeast corner of Broadway and 33rd Street near the Pacific Charter Institute on October 28. The Sacramento Police and rescue operations of the Sacramento Fire Department found the as yet unknown pedestrian lying on the pavement at this location. According to witnesses, the pedestrian hit and run accident involved a red PT Cruiser. The driver fled the scene heading east on Broadway toward Martin Luther King Boulevard without stopping. The pedestrian was awake at the scene and able to converse with responders. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation of what appeared to be moderate injuries upon initial evaluation. An active investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time. 

Sacramento Crosswalk Pedestrian Injury 

A pedestrian injury occurred during the early hours of September 18 in Sacramento after a woman was struck by a motor vehicle. The accident occurred at the intersection of 6th and W streets near Southside Park shortly after 1:00 in the morning. The Sacramento Police Department and fire department arrived at the scene to discover a woman in the roadway with an injury to her head that was bleeding. However, the woman was awake and alert as well as talking.
