Pedestrian Injured in Gerber Road Hit-and-Run Collision

A Sacramento crash and run collision occurred in Sacramento on February 10 that left a pedestrian injured. The accident happened at the intersection of Gerber and Power Inn roads around 11:49 a.m. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers who responded to the accident did not provide additional information about the accident. The CHP traffic collision detectives are determining the cause of the crash.

Why a Sacramento Crash and Run Collision Occurs

Hit-and-run accidents happen for a variety of reasons. The one thing they have in common is that the motorist does not want to accept responsibility for what they did. A hit-and-run is a serious charge and can include fines and jail time. Common reasons a driver flees an accident scene include:

  • The driver may have no insurance, or their registration is outdated.
  • The motorist may have illegal substances or a weapon in their vehicle.
  • Accidents caused by stolen cars are possible.
  • The driver may have outstanding warrants or be on probation for a previous offense.
  • The motorist might be intoxicated and doesn’t want to get caught.
  • The driver simply panics and leaves without thinking in a Sacramento crash and run collision.

How Does a Lawyer Locate a Fleeing Driver?

Over the years, our law office has located some hit-and-run drivers because we concentrate on finding them and have the experience and resources to do so. We firmly believe that no one should have to pay for injuries caused by a negligent driver. In cases involving pedestrians, serious injuries occur frequently, and the medical bills are high. Our investigations include the following:

  • Our investigators visit the scene of the Sacramento crash and run collision as soon as possible to gather evidence. Evidence commonly includes auto parts, which can identify the make and model of the vehicle. Photos provide visual proof.
  • The investigators perform accident reconstruction, which indicates how the collision occurred and can point toward who was at fault.
  • Area surveillance cameras are examined for video footage of the Sacramento crash and run collision. Cameras can help identify the vehicle and driver.
  • We verify the accuracy of the police report of the accident.
  • Two reasons motivate the interviewing of all witnesses. The first is to obtain their statements on how the collision occurred. The second is that witnesses sometimes capture the accident on their phones.
