A pedestrian intersection injury was reported in a South Sacramento crash in the Florin area on October 26. Patient Transported to Hospital in Pedestrian Intersection Injury Crash

Both the number one east and westbound lanes were blocked, and Sacramento Fire Department paramedics were called. The paramedics determined the pedestrian had been injured in the accident and transported their patient to Kaiser South Sacramento Medical Center. The cause of the injury accident and fault is being undertaken by the CHP traffic accident division.

Pedestrian Intersection Injury Crash Negligence Types

Traffic collisions occur at intersections more than half of the time. There is no surprise since traffic congregates at these locations from numerous directions and pedestrians and bicycle riders further complicate matters. Despite that traffic passing through an intersection should be safe, negligence and other factors often result in serious collisions. Intersection crashes are often caused by the following factors:

  • An intersection crash is most likely to occur when someone runs a red light.
  • In many accidents at intersections, speeding contributes to the cause because the driver can’t slow down or stop in time to avoid hitting another vehicle.
  • The reason drunk drivers cause so many serious accidents at intersections is that they have poor reflexes, judgment, and have difficulty tracking their eyes. Intoxicated drivers are dangerous on the road because of this.
  • Due to vehicles waiting at the crosswalk, it is possible to make a risky right turn without seeing to the left.
  • An accident involving oncoming traffic can occur if you turn left just before the arrow changes.
  • An intersection accident can be caused by road negligence. A government entity that is responsible for maintenance might be held liable in these cases. Government claims must be filed within six months of the incident, or they will not be heard in court. The proper filing of paperwork can be ensured by enlisting the assistance of an accident attorney.
