Man Killed in Brentwood DUI Crash

A 46-year-old man from Concord has been arrested earlier this month on suspicion of a felony DUI  after a head-on accident that left one man dead. Highway 4 was forcibly closed for over an hour, according to authorities. The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office has revealed the identity of the deceased male as 51-year Jose Munoz-Padilla of Ripon.

Traffic Safety Campaign in Brentwood

The Brentwood Police Department launched a special traffic safety campaign on Monday, April 1, 2019. The campaign primarily focuses on reminding the community to always drive with due regard and safety for others. This will be the first traffic campaign that the city has seen. The local police department intends to increase public awareness regarding traffic safety to improve the safety of all motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians. The new campaign promotes the slogan “Obey The Sign Or Pay The Fine.” Ultimately, the goal is to positively change people’s driving-related behaviors and enhance their awareness regarding road rules.

Brentwood Hosts Annual Holiday Parade 

Despite some temporary setbacks, Brentwood’s annual holiday parade will be set to launch on Friday, December 7 for its 36th year. The parade, which was originally planned to commence on November 17, was briefly canceled due to air-quality concerns that threatened the safety of the community. However, on Wednesday, November 21, the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce made a public announcement declaring the parade’s rescheduled date in December. All community members are invited to downtown Brentwood to observe the jolly, holiday spirit while enjoying the parade filled with lights, music, and dancers under the starry night sky.

Head-On Brentwood Collision Kills Discovery Bay Man. Recently, a head-on car accident left one man from Discovery Bay with fatal injuries and two others with minor-to-moderate injuries. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials are investigating the crash which took place in Brentwood and involved two vehicles. Two people were stuck inside their car and had to be removed using professional equipment. Both vehicles were majorly damaged.

I’m Ed Smith, a Brentwood Wrongful Death Lawyer. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating a single vehicle accident that caused fatal injuries to one party on Thursday, July 5, 2018. Officers responded to reports of an accident that caused a light pole to be knocked down along the northbound section of Deer Valley Road at approximately 6:19 p.m. Upon arrival, officials discovered a fallen power pole blocking traffic lanes and a 2007 Toyota Camry in a nearby ditch. The Toyota driver was reportedly ejected from the vehicle in the collision and was, unfortunately, pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the victim has been withheld from the public due to pending notification of next-of-kin. However, preliminary reports suggested that the individual was a 54-year-old woman from Discovery Bay.
