Five Women Injured in Rollover Crash on South George Washington Blvd  in Yuba City

Five women were injured, including three who suffered critical injuries and two who sustained serious injuries, following a single-vehicle rollover crash on South George Washington Blvd in Yuba City on Wednesday morning, August 5, 2026.

According to Sutter County Fire officials, the crash occurred at approximately 7:55 a.m. on South George Washington Boulevard, where the vehicle reportedly left the roadway and overturned in an orchard.

Three People Ejected in Rollover Crash

Fire personnel arrived at approximately 8:02 a.m. and found three people lying on the ground near the heavily damaged vehicle. Two additional occupants remained inside the car.

Fire officials described the vehicle as a late-model sedan that sustained major damage in the collision.

Five women, reportedly farm workers between approximately 50 and 60 years old, were injured. Two were transported to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, with one flown by air ambulance and the other transported by ground ambulance. The remaining three injured women were taken by ambulance to Adventist Health and Rideout Hospital in Marysville.

Four fire engines and two battalion chief vehicles responded to the scene, with the Yuba City Fire Department providing mutual aid.

Family members also arrived at the scene, and members of the Trauma Intervention Program were requested to assist them.

Preliminary Investigation Points to Possible Overcorrection

The California Highway Patrol’s Yuba-Sutter Division is investigating the crash.

According to CHP Officer Brandon Rains, preliminary information indicates the vehicle was traveling northbound on South George Washington Boulevard when the driver allegedly attempted to pass another motorist on the left.

The vehicle reportedly entered the opposite side of the roadway before reaching the shoulder. When the driver attempted to return to the roadway, the vehicle allegedly overcorrected, causing it to overturn onto the east shoulder.

CHP said passengers who were not wearing seat belts were ejected during the rollover.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional details regarding the circumstances of the crash may become available as authorities continue their investigation.
