STOCKTON, CA – A tragic single-vehicle crash in Stockton on Friday, July 3, claimed the life of a man and left a young boy seriously injured, according to police.
Officers with the Stockton Police Department responded to reports of a crash around 7:08 p.m. near the intersection of West Magnolia and North Edison streets. Authorities said the 37-year-old driver died at the scene. A 10-year-old passenger was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment and was reported to be in serious condition.
Investigators have not yet determined what caused the crash.
A spokesperson for the Stockton Police Department said they did not have information regarding the relationship between the man and the child.
Traffic officers took over the investigation as they worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
As of Monday, officials had not released any additional details about what may have led to the crash.
