Yuba City Area Events - April 2018

Yuba City 2018 Events

I’m Ed Smith, a Yuba City car accident lawyer.  Yuba City is a wonderfully diverse community with a unique character situated at the feet of Sutter Buttes and just to the west of the Sutter River. Yuba City’s location and culture benefit both residents and businesses and, with so much to offer, Yuba City is the site of a wide variety of exciting events. Some of the events taking place over the coming weeks are described below.

Shakespeare Movie Night

Date: April 18, 2018
Time: 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.

This program, hosted by Yuba-Sutter Arts will feature seven films adapted from the plays of the bard. This event is the first of an annual series of Shakespeare events that Yuba-Sutter Arts will be hosting and is an extension of the Shakespeare Readers Theater program.

Doors for the event will open at 5:30, at which point attendees will be able to enjoy conversation and refreshments in anticipation of the films. The projector will be “fired up” at 6:00 and the film have shown will be approximately two hours long.

Summer of Love 2018 Showcase

Date: April 14, 2018

Time: 7:00 p.m.

The local Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts will be presenting their annual Spring Showcase event. This year’s theme celebrates the famous “summer of love” and students, parents, and community members are invited to attend.

The event will feature an evening of entertaining music, dancing, and general merriment as well as special “Senior Spotlight” performances given by stars of the school’s 2018 graduating class. The performance will be held at the Marysville High School’s Southern Auditorium.

Theater Gallery Re-Opening

Date: April 12, 2018

Time: 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

The Yuba City Theater Gallery will be opening its doors again after three months of renovation work. In order to celebrate the gallery’s brand-new look, they will be hosting a monthlong art exhibit featuring Mary Ann Nation’s work in addition to work by resident artists of the gallery. The hosted art reception event is free to the public and will include complimentary refreshments.

The work of Mary Ann Nation includes wonderful oil paintings of seascapes and landscapes that convey her distinctly impressionist style. Having been a painter for over seventeen years, Mary Ann’s colorful works are all oil paintings completed with a palette knife. Nation’s work has been displayed in Californian art galleries including galleries in Colusa, Marysville, Yuba City and Fort Bragg.

Nation has said that, for her, painting is a method of capturing nature in order to share its beauty with other people. Don’t miss out on this spectacular re-opening show!
