Off-Ramp Semi Accident Occurs on Exit to County Road 8

A rollover semi accident occurred on April 21 on the West Side Highway at Woodland. The accident happened along southbound I-5 on the County Road 8 off-ramp around 10:51 a.m. The accident report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said the cab and the two trailers it was pulling rolled over on its side and was smoking. 

High Winds Almost Topple Big Rig Off I-5 Yolo Bypass

A severe thunderstorm on January 10 caused a big rig accident due to high winds. The accident, which resulted in several injuries, occurred after 3:30 a.m. along I-5 at the Yolo Bypass when 50 mph winds and a thunderstorm were moving through the area. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that part of the big rig’s trailer was left hanging over the side of the bridge. 

Accident on Old River Road Caused by Trailer That Broke Free From Semi

A tractor-trailer collision with a pickup truck east of Woodland caused severe damage on August 15. The truck accident happened around 8:42 p.m. along eastbound Old River Road at County Road 117 when the trailer being pulled by the big rig became unattached and crashed into a Chevy Tahoe. The individual who called in the accident reportedly said the trucker got out of their cab and forgot to shift it in park. 

Accident on County Road Involves Pickup and Tanker Truck

A major injury was reported in Woodland on April 21 when a pickup collided with a tanker truck. The accident happened around 10:50 a.m. along County Road 18C just east of State Route 113 between Coil Lane and Churchill Downs Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) incident report, the Dodge Ram and tanker truck did not block the roadway after the collision. However, a major injury was reported to one of the people involved. At least one of the vehicles had to be removed by a tow truck. The accident is under investigation to determine how it occurred and assign fault.

Big Rig Left Dangling Precariously

Commuters on Interstate 5 found themselves encountering an unexpected delay when a terrifying crash occurred on the afternoon of Friday, June 25th. As a result of the incident, the cab of a semi-truck was left hanging precariously from the side of the Yolo Bypass.

Two Truck Accidents Near Woodland, Multiple Injuries

Multiple people were injured following a series of truck accidents near Woodland. The two accidents occurred in the same location on Highway Interstate 5 around three hours apart and left multiple people with injuries that required hospital treatment. While updates on the health conditions of the injured parties haven’t been reported, medical officials indicated that none of the involved individuals suffered life-threatening injuries. Additionally, these accidents are under an active California Highway Patrol (CHP) investigation.
