Sacramento Hit-and-Run Crash Reported on Northgate Boulevard

A Sacramento hit-and-run crash on December 7 sent two pedestrians to the hospital after they were struck on Northgate Boulevard. The accident happened at about 9:00 p.m. between Garden Highway and Highway 160, according to the incident report by the Sacramento Police Department. A man and woman were struck in the accident, and both are listed in stable condition. An investigation is being undertaken to determine how the collision occurred and to locate the driver who fled the scene.

Injured by a Fleeing Driver? Here’s How We Help

In recent years, we have been successful in locating a number of hit-and-run drivers. Drivers must be held accountable for their actions, and we understand how important this is. Further, we have investigators and numerous resources at our disposal to assist us in this endeavor. Investigations of accidents take us to areas such as:

  • The investigators searched for paint from the vehicle and pieces of metal dropped from the vehicle at the scene of the Sacramento hit-and-run crash to collect physical evidence. They serve as a means of determining the model and make of a vehicle.
  • An interview is conducted with witnesses to the hit-and-run accident.
  • A thorough review of the police report ensures its accuracy and completeness. Clients may not be able to place a compensation claim if there is a mistake.
  • Using accident reconstruction techniques and reviewing surveillance videos at the Sacramento hit-and-run crash, we gain a more complete understanding of the crash. It is possible to subpoena surveillance footage if it caught the accident on camera.
  • The evidence is turned over to our attorneys, who utilize it to present a strong case during negotiation or litigation.

Compensation for Accidents When At-Fault Drivers Leave the Scene

Motorists are notoriously difficult to identify following a Sacramento hit-and-run crash, making compensating injuries difficult. In many cases, the fleeing driver has no insurance or isn’t financially able to pay your injury claim, even if the driver is located. When this occurs, we help clients take advantage of their uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage.

As part of their auto insurance, when they first elect to take it, California drivers are offered this add-on. Since there are so many uninsured/underinsured drivers in the state, many drivers take advantage of this offer. The add-on policy can help injured people regardless of how they get injured, whether they are driving, walking, or riding a bicycle. Further, if another member of the injured party’s family has coverage and they don’t, the injured party can use it as well. No changes are made to the policy rates.
