Story of the Deep Blue Lead

Where: El Dorado Arts Council 772 Pacific Street, Placerville, CA

Local photographer Caitlin Thompson teamed up with George Wheeldon, an emeritus professor of geology to discover and portray the fascinating features of the Deep Blue Lead channel. This dead river was home to many gold veins and helped shape the history of the area as it wound through granite slabs and past lava rock formations.
