Vehicles Go Off Roadway in Two-Vehicle Wreck

The vehicles involved in the collision did not block traffic but went off the roadway. One of the vehicles went into a fenced area with either chickens or ducks in it. The man reporting the accident also said their wife was in the vehicle and wasn’t well.

Emergency Responders Called to Scene of Accident With Reported Head Trauma

Cal Fire emergency responders arrived to assess injuries. No additional information was provided. The CHP traffic investigation unit is determining which motorist was at fault and how the crash occurred.

Collisions Head-On

There are many types of traffic accidents, but head-on collisions are among the most dangerous. When two vehicles collide, their velocity is combined. The result is often serious physical harm, such as head injuries, broken bones, or spinal cord damage. An injury that is severe often leads to high medical bills, incapacity from work for a long time, and pain and suffering. The following are common causes:

  • Drivers who are distracted
  • Driving too fast
  • Feeling fatigued
  • Drivers going the wrong way
  • Drivers under the influence of drugs or alcohol

Frontal Collisions and Head Injuries: Recovery of Damages

It may be possible to recover the following damages from a negligent driver when someone is injured or suffers head trauma in an accident:

  • Medical: In addition to hospitalization, medications, surgeries, rehabilitation and other costs associated with their injury, all their medical costs can be recouped. Those costs are factored into the settlement if the injury requires future treatment or results in permanent disability.
  • It is possible to recover lost wages due to incapacitation. Bonuses and other perks are included here. The difference in salary is factored into the settlement if the injured worker returns to work at lower pay or becomes disabled.
  • In addition to physical problems, compensation for emotional and psychological trauma are also included in pain and suffering. It is not uncommon for injured people to develop post-traumatic stress disorder, which can be debilitating and require professional treatment.
