A collision occurred on East First Avenue and Neal Dow Avenue shortly after 8:00 p.m. on September 8, 2026, left a 20-year-old Chico motorcyclist with critical injuries. The crash occurred as an eastbound motorcycle and a westbound van attempted to navigate the intersection, with both drivers facing green traffic signals while the van tried to make a left turn onto Neal Dow Avenue.

Emergency crews rushed the critically injured rider to a local hospital, though further updates on his medical condition have not been released. The van was driven by a woman from Chico.
