Two Hurt in Fiery Auto Accident Near Oroville

On Wednesday, July 15, 2020, an auto accident near Oroville left two people with injuries, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports. Additionally, officers indicated that the accident caused a fire. The collision happened in the afternoon and involved three vehicles. A CHP investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.

Crash Details

The accident occurred at around 3:18 p.m. on the 5000 block Miners Ranch Road a few miles east of Oroville. The accident was first reported to CHP by a caller who heard the crash happen, but did not witness it. When police reached the crash scene, they immediately reported a fire. Updates on whether or not the fire was put out have not yet been reported. CHP reports do not detail the circumstances of the crash but did report that a Jeep sustained major damage to its front end and called for three separate tow trucks to remove wrecked vehicles from the road.

Medical officials arriving at the crash scene discovered that two people had been injured, reporting that one suffered minor injuries and the other sustained serious trauma. Both parties were reportedly transported to a local hospital for care and further medical evaluation.

Investigation

Police diverted traffic at the accident scene during response and preliminary investigation. While they continue to investigate what could have caused the crash, officers have not reported any likely causes.

Car crashes can be complex and, with many accidents, there are multiple causal factors. Additionally, a large number of car crashes are caused by factors drivers simply have no ability to control. Common non-driver auto accident factors include issues with roadway pavement, missing signage, defective auto parts, and more.

Car Accidents and Burn Injuries

Being hurt in a car accident can be very serious and burn injuries are one of the most severe types of trauma that collision survivors sustain. Burn injuries can take a very long time to heal and, in many cases, are extremely painful. Furthermore, burn injuries are likely to cause severe scarring and many people require multiple reconstructive surgeries. Altogether, these issues can leave crash survivors feeling stressed and unsure of what they can do.
